Novel Translation: How Dare You
Ep 15: Xiahou Dan fell ill after reading a letter from the envoy to Yan, who has been detained. Yu Wanuin decides to get out of the Cold Palace so she can be more helpful. She uses a megaphone to spread the truth about consort Shu and provokes her into attacking her. Xiahou Dan shows up and confines Consort Shu. He's angry at Yu Wanuin for putting herself in danger but agrees to her plan.

Xie Yonger throws up in front of the Empress Dowager and the doctor comes to check on her. He lies on her behalf because she's definitely pregnant (one cannot vomit in the dramas without being pregnant). He says he can help her conceal it for a little while. She says she has to get rid of the child to survive, as her seduction plan failed.
The Empress dowager gives a very gross speech about how she doesn't care if the emperor is traumatized he should give her more grandchildren, but she bets he's just avoiding women to be rebellious or something and annoy her. Yikes.
Prince Duan suspects the envoy from Yan is fake/has bad intentions and supports letting them enter the city. The Empress Dowager thinks that the prince and emperor are working together. Xie Yonger asks Prince Duan to help her, but her doctor friend shows up with a solution. Of course it involves mixing opposing medicines because science.
Baby Diary! Little Dan tries to get around the Empress Dowager and tell the Emperor about his treatment, but she intercepts his letters. Then she tells him that his father will soon die and that there are other princes she can control. He begs for forgiveness.
Ep 16: I thought we started with more baby diary, but it looks like the crown prince is sick.
This chapter in the novel (12) is called "Wife Chase Crematorium" (火葬场) which literally translates to crematorium but refers to the type of story where the ML treats the wife badly, the wife leaves and then he spends the rest of the story begging and trying to find ways to make it up to her. The Yan dancers give Xiahou Dan flashbacks to Beauty Shinyu (who it was mentioned prior tried to assassinate him). The Empress Dowager has prepared an insulting dance in return because she wants the peace talks to fail. The Yan people want to join the dance and Xiahou Dan lets them.
Xie Yonger decides to take the medicine from Prince Duan, despite medical advice and then leaves. Yu Wanuin chases after her. Back at the banquet, a minister frames a Yan delegate for stealing. The Empress Dowager pretends to be forgiving, but Xiahou Dan proves that he was set up. The minister is dragged away and the Empress Dowager is creepy about her plan failing, as she does.
Xie Yonger is having a bad time, Yu Wanuin carries her back to her room:
The Empress Dowager is waiting for them. Yu Wanuin tries to defend Yonger and she passes out. She is diagnosed with a miscarriage but accused of taking medication to cause it. She pleads innocence. Yu Wanuin accuses the maid of drugging the wine (that only she drank) and making them both sick. Afterwards, Yu Wanuin confronts Yonger and tries to convince her that Prince Duan is just using her. Then she asks "How are you?" in English.
Baby Diary! Little Dan tries to make amends by giving out snacks to the other princes, but it's changed for disgusting stuff. It turns out to be Prince Duan's plot.
(and now I need to attend a training seminar for work on Navigating Grief which just seems a bit on the nose given today's episodes)
