What happens to Lightroom if you don't continue after 12 months?
Lightroom CC? Then it won't work.
After the year, does it go up to the more expensive rate or does it stay at $10/month forever?
Only Adobe knows this. There is no guarantee about it staying at $10 though.
There is no Lightroom CC as far as I can tell. What I'm asking is are you buying a license to Photoshop CC for a year and Lightroom 5 on top of that?
Oh right, it actually says Lightroom 5. Still it's a subscription model.

FYI: You have to pay for the year in advance.
You dont. You just have to commit to paying monthly for a year and if you cancel in say 2 months, you pay for half of remaining monthly fees.
Oh. That's better. Thanks for the heads up.
Not a bad price, but I just bought Lightroom 5 like 2 weeks ago...
Also, I can't seem to find that the price will be after that 1 year... This makes a huge difference. Is it gonna double in price?
12.29 Euro equals 16.57 US Dollar
From Italy I can see it 9,99$ + taxes or 12,29€ taxes included.
I see them rolling this out as a special permanent "introductory" rate for new accounts and dinging the existing clients with the full "regular" $19.99 rate when it comes time to renew at the end of the year. Thanks adobe :)
This is why I passed on it when it was offered back in December. It was just super unclear about what I would be paying after that first year and if I would be able to cancel before being locked in to another year.
Well, just cancel your subscription and then start a new one with the special price. Admittedly a bit of a hassle, but not the end of the world.
So, is this for everyone, or just people who have a currently licensed Adobe product? I'd like to give them a shot, but last time I tried, I was excluded from the deal.
Everyone.

So what happens if you don't have an active internet connection? I'm considering loving off grid. I'll be able to use my phone for limited internet, but it won't be a constant connection. Do you just have to get online once a month to pay, or does it require constant internet access during use?
I thought the CC (Creative Cloud) products are web based so you can only use them when connected.
Apparently: "Your Creative Cloud desktop applications (such as Adobe® Photoshop® and Illustrator®) are installed directly on your computer, so you won't need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis."
I stand corrected
"Loving off the grid" sounds neat BTW.
It's like living off the grid, but sexier :)
Thanks! I guess if I ever do decide to live without an Internet connection, I can find alternative ways to use their products.
Once a month is enough!
One thing though - updates come through fairly often now - may eat up a chunk of your bandwidth if you take them
Good point. Thanks for the warning.
I'd be interested in purchasing this bundle but alas, not available in my country of residence. Sad face.
Same here. Don't know why Adobe doesn't like my money...
I bought photoshop two weeks before they announced that the subscription model was going to be forced and that they were going to discontinue the purchase option. I'm holding out until the last possible moment before I sign on to the subscription. Eventually I will have to sign on and I hate that, however I'm not going to pay for it until I need it or they discontinue the "introductory offer".
photograpgt
Love you. 3 am posting on a pghne ftw :p
G and T are both one key to the left of H and Y.
Logic has no place in r/photograpgt we allow only emotion and ego.
$10/month? no thanks.
The license model sucks it's true. But I don't think the price is outrageous - just the model. If that makes any sense.
I'd happily pay $10 a month for ALL of creative suite, since I'm not using it to make money, but I feel like the price is aimed at professionals.
It's amazing to me how people balk at prices of software, especially for such an amazing piece of software like LR or PS, but will gladly spend 1000 on a lens. The amount of R&D and work that goes into software packages, software packages that you use for every single photo. You'll spend 50-100$ on a CF card and not think about it, but software, since it can be pirated, suddenly is overpriced.
You can hate on the model, but $10 a month is pretty damn cheap for LR+PS.
I agree about Photoshop, but it is actually a pretty high-priced piece of software on its own anyway. Lightroom is a little different because all of your work is saved in it's library. It would kind of stink to not have access to that because of your subscription being up.
No idea what's really happening, but it reads as desperation to me. I wonder if Adobe is having a harder time selling the subscription model than they thought.
Their policies suck. Two days ago I needed another photoshop license and saw this bundle (but it was limited again to CS owners), the sales rep i talked to couldnt do anything to get me to subscribe because the offer is long gone (even though I already own Lightroom 5)...
The incident of their customer data getting compromised is still in people's minds.
How surprising !
