Guess what? The kiss cam gif is back. Guess the reaction...

A thread about a funny kiss cam moment! To which the top comment posts 4 other funny kiss cam gifs

The top one is an old friend of Reddit, one we all know. If you haven't seen it watch it. SO whats the reply this time, a different take?

I wanna punch that b!tch in the throat in the first one. "Ew wtf is wrong with you, stop kissing a cup, that's really weir- OH MY GOD HE'S DRINKING IT WTF STOP!!!"

NOPE. The still want to violently attack a women for, from what I can tell, looking confused.

I was thinking the same thing. You could just tell that b!tch is gonna be yappin about that till her f*ck!ng death bed.

Yeah first she pulls away like "Eww I am not gonna kiss that" When she is no spring chicken either. Then when he plays it off like a f*ck!ng champ with the whole beer shtick. The whole place is going crazy except her. She still pulling away acting like she is too good for him and disgusted by his actions. What a super king kamehameha bi-atch!

I wish I could get so much information about someone from a 10 second gif of an awkward reaction in a public place.

I get it, this is probably one of those vitriolic, hate-filled comments that has a relatively low score and is buried far down in the comments.

172 points, top reply to top comment

Holy shit. Reddit really, really hates women.

RayBoogsOP•

Its pretty disgusting. How that can be the first thing that pops to your head.

17
sleepy55•

It's pretty strange how that one gif in particular seems to push their buttons so much.

They act like the face she makes is one of disgust when in reality it seems more like "don't spill beer on me".

but the guy in the third .gif who is clearly confused and uncomfortable doesn't even get a reply most of the time.

Key word right there.

48
Ryz999•

It's funny because she's clearly pointing off camera to someone else and saying "I'm with him". But no, she obviously must just be a horrible bitch.

24
sleepy55•

Wow I never even noticed that before.

3
owenaise•

So you don't think there's a huge difference between a guy fake-kissing his cup and two dudes actually making out inches away from you? Come on.

-12
ResRevolution•

Does Reddit know that some of these are staged? I'm pretty sure the second and the last one definitely are staged, but it wouldn't surprise me if the first one was too.

They're getting upset over nothing...

18
Mr_Wolfdog•

I feel like the sister one was probably staged...unless people just go to sporting events with signs telling people who their siblings are nowadays.

10
CranialEruption•

The guy in that one posted why he had the sign on some other website. It was a couple's night or something, and he was originally taking a date but she couldn't go, so he took his sister instead and came prepared.

17
Mr_Wolfdog•

Ah, that makes sense.

6
singe8•

There was also one of the cameramen in the original thread (with proof), and he claimed that it wasn't staged. That doesn't necessarily mean anything, because he could've been lying, but all signs point to it not being staged.

2
RayBoogsOP•

To me, it looks like its happened multiple times before so h made a sign for the next time. Or its staged.

9
[deleted]•

I for one would, totally kiss his sister.

Sorry, I must have been confused.

This is well-covered ground. Just search for the last one. Rinse, repeat.

7
RayBoogsOP•

Thats kind of my point. No matter how many times it posted, the reaction is always the same. The women deserves a beating and shes a terrible human.

26

Is it? Is it though? BUt is it really?

Wait, yeah, it is. My mistake.

What the actual?

4
Sabordgg•

She just looked distracted at first, like she was talking to someone. So I don't really see the refusial and especially why she should be punched.

6
[deleted]•

She didn't even belong to the guy with the beer, the kiss cam operator made a mistake there. I can't believe how virtually every time people fail to see that and get incredibly angry at her. Incredible self-perpetuating circlejerk.

0
eorlinga•

Considering the subject... belong to?

2
[deleted]•

Oh my, did I say that she is a property of the guy? :-O I translated it literally from my native language and I guess it's wrong. How should I phrase it correctly?

1
eorlinga•

Belong does have a connotation of property or at least ownership. My houseplants belong to me. My dog belongs to me. My boyfriend doesn't belong to me because I have no ownership of him.

"She wasn't even with" the guy with the beer doesn't have that connotation.

2
Sabordgg•

I didn't even think they where together until it was brought up,but now I feel foolish again.

1
TheHardestStyle•

The gifs were pretty funny. The comments were terrible.

4
WednesdayLaw•

I don't understand why this gif circulates the internet so much or what's so special about it, or why it generates such a ridiculous circlejerk every time.

4
EdgarAllanNope•

I'm literally laughing out loud so hard right now. Those comments are so unexpected. That's like not in any way a normal way to react to a gif. Who even thinks of that?

2
alexiskeen•

If you think the woman in the first gif looks confused you might have a brain problem.

0†
RayBoogsOP•

Yes I have a brain problem because I don't want to mercilessly beat a women for not kissing a guy she doesn't know.

And she looks confused because she is not with that guy, and then it changes to a "please don't spill that on me look" and then ends before we see her final reaction.

But yeah, who cares lets just beat the hell out of her, just because man.

5
JamesCishetfield•

Lol. You can write 'bitch' and 'fuck'. We don't care.

-2
RayBoogsOP•

LOL DAE swear on the internet?!?!!??!!?! lel.

And, no I can't, my work computer has a swear filter.

8
JamesCishetfield•

GOD. You must literally work for The Department of Truth

1
RayBoogsOP•

Yeah, I must.

5
drawlinnn•

What the fuck does it matter to you that OP didn't swear?

Fuck off.

6
JamesCishetfield•

Looks like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!

Edit: Jesus. You look like you've got some pain behind those eyes. That's a lot of abuse you're hurling in your comment history.

"Bigot!"

Lol okay.

1
owenaise•

NOPE. The still want to violently attack a women for, from what I can tell, looking confused.

Eh, she looks more repulsed than confused, and honestly appears to be a bit rude. Everyone else in the GIF is laughing hysterically while she's just reeling and leaning as far away as possible from that guy, who's obviously hamming it up for the camera. And it's not like she doesn't know exactly what's going on. She looks at the screen multiple times, so I can't see how she could possibly be that confused.

-10
shhhhquiet•

"Repulsed?" That's an "oh, dear, you're making a mess" expression. He's leaning towards her and clearly spilling beer all over. I'd edge over, too. The gif, of course, cuts off before the very end of the video where she reacts to whatever he's saying with a pretty adorable little giggle.

12
that__one__guy•

I've always thought that gif was gross. I don't really know why but it's just gross. Maybe it's because it looks like he's trying to eat his beer.

5
owenaise•

Well the ending may influence how you perceive the GIF then. She borderline gags at a point and definitely goes beyond "Oh dear". There's multiple ways you can interpret her reaction but I certainly wouldn't say it's "confused", as the OP was saying.

I'm also not seeing any beer being spilt, but that may just be the GIF.

-6
shhhhquiet•

Well the ending may influence how you perceive the GIF then.

Nope, I saw it after I saw this version. I only bring it up because I see the version that's being passed around as cut in a way that portrays the woman in the worst possible light.

She borderline gags at a point and definitely goes beyond "Oh dear". There's multiple ways you can interpret her reaction but it definitely goes beyond "confused", as the OP was saying.

No, she does not "borderline gag." But this is the whole point: people who identify with the man often see the woman as horrible, mean, rude, stuck up or "punchable," while people who identify with the woman at worst see the guy's behavior as a little bit silly or strange and see her as uncomfortable or thrown off and unsure of how to react. Seriously disproportionate vitriol, which is what makes reddit's constant reposting of this gif so gross.

I mean, none of the other people who are laughing are having their space invaded while an entire stadium looks on, are they?

6
owenaise•

I only bring it up because I see the version that's being passed around as cut in a way that portrays the woman in the worst possible light.

Which is sad, no doubt about that. I hadn't seen the gif before either so I'm not as familiar with this particular jerk.

No, she does not "borderline gag."

But she does... Watch her while the guy is drinking his beer, she halfway puts her hand up in a "please get away from me" gesture and makes a gagging-esque contortion. Seriously. At the very least it's an "Ewww", which you really shouldn't animate in public, let alone on camera.

I mean, none of the other people who are laughing are having their space invaded while an entire stadium looks on, are they?

Fair point I suppose, but she still comes off as a bit rude. Not a bitch like the rest of reddit believes, though.

She just doesn't handle the situation all that well, which is why she comes across as "stuck up" (for a lack of a better term). In my opinion the circlejerk is not giving her the benefit of the doubt in the situation. If it was a male acting in a similarly awkward way reddit would probably jump to his defense and claim he's simply an innocent introvert that doesn't know how to act any better.

It's a circlejerk, but I don't think the woman is completely blameless like many here are insisting.

alanwins•

from what i can tell, looking confused

NOPE. if that's your takeout, then you shouldn't be trying to tell things, because you're not very good at it. she wasn't confused, she knew what was going on from the first; that the camera was on her (she leans towards her friend to point that out and uses the movement to also not-so-subtly inch away from the guy). he recovers masterfully (i would've been so hurt), and "kisses" his drink instead.

watch her, though. watch how she expects it to have ended; the only time she's confused is when she does a doubletake that the kiss-cam is still on them when she's obviously expressed her distaste. irritation at the fact that the guy is not "pursuing" her also flashes on her face. the guy doesn't even look at her. if i were her, i'd be upset too.

she becomes upset when the guy's not just getting the crowd's attention, but their applause as well. she pulls a "wtf is he doing what a loser" face.

i wish i could get so much information about someone from a 10 second gif

child i could get that amount of information on you -- or anyone -- from a ten nanosecond gif. please don't project your lack of awareness on the rest of the world, and expect the rest of the class to back you up.

this is as much of a shitpost as the posts you purportedly hate.

go away.

cranberryalmond•

Watch how he begins his comment with an adamant denial of what the post is saying. "NOPE"--not "nope," "no," "nah," "I disagree," or "maybe that's not the entire story." The all caps indicate that he was pounding his fist on the desk as he typed it out. The glass of water next to his keyboard toppled over at the force of it, almost spilling over his keyboard, which made him even angrier. He's angry, feeling furious that someone could say the woman doesn't deserve the internet beat down Reddit gives her. He's validating his own impressions by insisting the way he saw it is not only the most probable, but actual and obvious fact. He debated between this or sticking his fingers in his ears, but the former won out because his fingers are covered in shit right now.

Look at how he continues to spit in thinly-veiled rage as he writes the elaborate fiction about the inner psyche of a person he's never met before, probably drawing simply on his own experiences and poorly-formed impressions of other women he's come across who've rolled their eyes or pulled faces at him. Afterwards, without a hint of irony, he implies that he's just as good at reading people as most normal, socially intelligent people--which the OP is absolutely not!!!!!--so you should totally believe what he says. Similarly without a hint of irony he asks the OP to stop projecting his lack of awareness about reality.

Still unaware of his own unawareness, u/alanwins steps away from the computer and steps in front of the mirror to shake his fist in vain at the sour-looking man sneering at him yet again.

The sad thing is, his interpretation is viable, and in my humble opinion probably correct. I find it hard to agree with him other than silently due to the arrogance and superiority that drips off of his post. It's disgusting. Like the dude in the .gif
