With Bellona being introduced into the game and her Bludgon stance hitting people in a cone with a slow hit chain it would only make sense that Guan would FINALLY get this implemented on his kit. He needs a little love and it would make sense here.

He did used to have it on his last hit, but was removed for being too buggy. Since they seem to of fixed it, they should bring it back.

Ne Zha still has that iirc, so I don't know what was making Guan buggy. Maybe the extra range thing?
osiris also has aoe on his 3rd aa chain
the reddit community brought this up when awilix was released too. I think it would be nice to see HiRez comb through a few other gods and implement more 'shaped' attack chains for those it makes sense on.
Agree. His basic atacks/chain is horrendous.
What about Athena, she prob doesn't need any buffs but the way she winds her spear in 360 degrees

Please no, she already has Reach and a really strong kit, she doesn't need a huge buff to her auto-attack chain.

Making her basic deal damage as an AoE around her doesnt mean that it has to keep its damage, make it deal half damage, one and a half swing time but its AoE, no longer OP

Right there with ya brother. As soon as bellona was shown I was the first guy saying wtf why doesn't odins ult do any dmg and have the second ring mecanic? He is the only warrior with an ult that does 0 dmg and doesn't self buff.
Hell, I'd be happy with cc immunity on his ultimate again. Or him being able to walk through the walls. Most of the time, his ult turns into "you get hit by most enemy aoe attacks and cc and you'll probably die. Congrats! " Bellona is just so much better than Odin (who's really just super gimmicky now) in every way.
I just hate how odin was dealt with. Hard to beleive the same people who made bellona in all her glory also gave us odin.

Yeah. Pre - nerf's he actually felt like Odin. Now he's just a wasted slot on the team.
he is a walking ult+early dmg dealer, that's it, mid game to late game he is useless, if they gave him the attack speed or the cc immunity in his ult, or just anything at all, hey look odin can kinda counter 1 or 2 heals from hel and that's it

Just a qol buff he already had the mechanic but it was bugged. Bug looks to be fixed. Adding it back wouldn't hurt anything
While I do agree that this buff would be nice for guan, its not a quality of life buff, its a straight buff to the fighting power of the god.

I still want Guan Yu to have that knockback on his 2 you see in the cinematic trailer, even if only attacking from behind; it would be great.
I dunno, I play a -lot- of guan, and I find a lot more utility using it to get in front of a fleeing opponent and body block them while I slap them repeatedly with my broom.

The CD reduction would likely be removed to balance it a bit more. Maybe an increase in length too.
This and the Sobek suggestion are fine imo, but can we PLEASE stop rationalizing god changes with "Well Bellona has it, so shouldn't this god have it too???". This logic makes no sense at all. Loki has stealth, so should every god have stealth? What about a nem shield on ever god?
It's different with Guan since he used to have an AOE on the last hit in the chain but it was removed for being bugged.

My logic is that guan had it first but it was buggy so they took it away. They seemed to fix whatever was glitched so there is no reason why it shouldn't come back

bwhahahaha no. It's one of the strongest heals in the game.

It's not. You add the right items and you can sustain a fight for a very long time with that heal. As a warrior building damage, sure, it's going to be pants. But it's pretty easy to build him as a bruiser and have a seriously strong team fighting heal. I can very often outheal an enemy Hel with it.

what you are saying is that you suggest melee warriors to have a cone hit chains like Bellona and Osiris rather than the normal single target hits because of big weapons?
i think that this is a great suggestion for not only Guan but so all other melee gods with big weapon swings that actually already feel like they are cleaving in-front of them in a cone rather than just hitting one target at a time. so gief it to all melee warriors please!
My suggestion would be any warrior who has a very slow hit chain like Guan/Bellona/ even Odin to at least have the option of having the last hit be small cone.
They still will never be able to out box an Osiris because that is his niche to be a buzzsaw. It will just help vs some minions where it just looks weird how guan hits 1 at a time :)

I love Guan's passive. Gives him an awesome advantage for dueling. So much fun.
I always thought it should originally have been included as part of his heal ability though since it didn't scale. If they put his passive into his 2 and gave him a balanced passive built around his kit as a whole, Id probably play him more often.

Sobek's passive isn't that bad, it even got buffed recently.
I'd like him to take less damage from objectives and minions as a passive. It would synergize well with his kit as he could Taulo Assault someone and take less damage from the archers aggroing + the obvious phoenix diving with his ult

Old Guan's passive was that he took less damage from ALL sources while diving or defending a structure.
His idea is that he takes less damage from ONLY non-player sources.

I'm not saying he isn't good, I'm saying his passive doesn't actually exist, it's just his 1 split into 2 abilities.
plus, he already has an additional passive in that using his abilities lowers his cooldowns. Just because it isn't labeled in his passive slot doesn't make it not there.
While theyre at it, they should do something with Kumbas Passive (seriously, worst passive in the game).
Agreed, compared to Tyr, Osiris, Vamana and Bellona. They have amazingly good passives while guan and odin have trash tier conditional passives that are mediocre even when stacked

Guan does have a passive, it's just written into his other abilities. His 1 and 2 reduce the CD of his abilities; along with conviction, that in itself is a passive.

Vulcan's passive isn't great, but at least it's an actual effect rather than another ability that's been split into two.
