Generally speaking the daily deals on Amazon for clothing and footwear aren't worth the time. This is because the discounts they tout, in this case "70% off", are based on their current "sale" price vs MSRPs that no one would ever pay.
Not always true though. I got a pair of Iron Rangers for $198 from the daily deals on Amazon.
Red Wing, Clarks, and that one pair of White's they carry seem to be the only exceptions.
I bought a Jones New York suit during the two hour window at 3 am one day back in 2013 when it actually WAS $1500. AMA.
^^^^I ^^^^didn't ^^^^though
Thank you for using Amazon Smile!
Obligatory shout-out to my beneficiary, Kiva, they take your $20 or whatever and loan it to a third-world entrepreneur, who takes like 2 years to pay you back, and then you can give the "same" $20 to another entrepreneur, and before you know it, the world's just a little bit better.
Got a belt, thanks dude.
The best sport coat from this? need a navy one, prefer solid color to go with khakis
Seems so excellent.
Does anyone have experience with any of these? I need a black suit for an upcoming memorial service. I'm just not willing to pay for an expensive suit that I'll only wear 3-4 times a year.
Leaning toward this one.
For a bit more cash, I'd opt for the J Crew Factory Thompson suit in black wool. While still fused, the material and cut is more modern than those from Amazon.
tfw 42r is out of stock :((((((
If you have a store nearby, check them first. They usually have standard sizes in stock and usually are cheaper than the website. My local store runs 50% off sales every other week.
We don't have any god damn stores here in Maine. It's horrible. No target markets up here

Not the best prices. These are the standard suits that are marked up to ridiculous prices and are never sold at the $650 dollar price point they're placed at prior to the sale.
Both these brands aren't really known for the value, and tend to be a baggier cut with substandard materials/construction for the price.
I would avoid them.
I got a 2 piece stafford wool suit from jcp last week for $100 total. Fit was perfect, didnt even need to get it tailored
Which one, if you mind my asking?

this is the classic fit, they also have slim fit
Awesome, thanks.
You wouldn't happen to know how the super 100 compares to the super 100 wool?
Honestly, you can get a cheaper similar quality suit at JC Penneys. Still better because you can find your perfect fit, and then take it to the tailor for minimal adjustments.
A cheap suit that fits well does wonders.
A navy or charcoal suit is still appropriate for a funeral.
Needs to be higher up.
Black suits are absolutely not required for funerals.
I'd say Navy would be best as black is rather a one trick pony. Not a bad deal on a cheap 100% wool suit though.
If you are going to wear it more than once, spring for a J Crew Factory or Combatant Gentlemen.
I'd go with Combatant Gentleman or Bar III for the price.

I don't have experience with any of these, but I would avoid the Kenneth Cole suits as they appear to be mostly Polyester. I would also suggest that you don't need to wear a black suit to a memorial service, if you have a navy or gray suit that would be fine if you keep it conservative (no crazy patterns, plain black shoes and belt). If you have no suits, go for Navy or Gray wool rather than black, as they will be more versatile. Check out the MFA guides.
