Spicy Lovers of Richmond

Any other hotheads? Know of any specialty food shops that carry odd hot sauces or spicy bags of chips? (I need a store like this) Restaurants that understand spicy?

Here is one to start, Peter Changs restaurant in shortpump. NOT P.F CHANG. He has a ghost pepper dish and some other that are covered in hot peppers.

Southern Seasons has a decent hot sauce selection.

Only spicy chips I've seen around here are the Rt. 11 Mama Zumas, which won't melt your face but are damn good.

The dry fried zuchinni at Peter Changs is seriously delicious.

Caliente has some really hot stuff. Try the Ghost Pepper fries, they are stupid hot.

They also have their Stupid Wing Challenge. Apparently they make you sign a waiver before consuming them.

There is a waiver... I've signed it... and then took one bite and looked like a little bitch when I tapped out and my girlfriend kept going.

I ate two of them recently. Not pleasant really. I could have eaten the order over say an hour but had no Interest. My friend ate one and it fucked him up bad for hours.

I wonder if that's pure show or they really think they need it

Did this once. The next day is absolute agony. They ain't joking.

They make it very clear in the waiver that they will charge you if you vomit or destroy their property. Someone busted their glass door out trying to get through it to vomit outside not too long ago.

The thing that skeevs me out is that they recycle the sauce for every batch (supposedly it makes it hotter)

Southern Seasons on Staples Mill has a large selection of hot sauces - including some different stuff like Mint Cilantro Chile sauce. Also a decent collection of Dave's

Cheng Du on Broad St is really good. I've been twice since they opened a month or two ago.

do they have hot-pot?

If you're a fan of korean food, get the Bull Dak at Bonchon and say you want it extra spicy. They will give you the whole, "are you sure, it's already really really spicy" speel. Fuck that, tell them you want it to hurt.

Top ten Thai on Grace right at the vcu bookstore.

Love Thai Top Ten. anyplace that has a sign that says "we won't remake your food if it's too spicy" is not kidding around. I got their Thai Hot and it was....yeah.

zapatoada•

Yeah I usually get American hot, but there I'm lucky if I can handle medium.

I haven't driven by in a while but I suspect it may have closed or changed hands...

There was a Szechuan place on Glenside right at the intersection of Staples Mill. Google shows a "Little Asia" at the spot...

They have (had?) a Szechuan hot-pot (fondue-type boiling pot of oil with pounds of chilis in it) that melted my face off. It literally made me have mild hallucinations. That was fun. I should see if they are still there.

Hottest food I've had in Richmond by far.

red_lanternChesterfield•

The old place is gone, but Little Asia is fantastic. I order there all the time.

They use some really hot peppers, but I don't know if they have that hot-pot.

Plus they deliver :) http://littleasiarva.com/

Had. It's gone now.

Not necessarily the best food by any means, but if you're looking for hot you can order anything from Elephant Thai and ask for it to be level 1 to 4 spicey and they will make it as hot as you want.

We get delivery from Elephant Thai regularly, maybe it's just that they'll deliver to Church Hill, but I like their food.

I love Elephant Thai, order from them all the time.

En su boca has a really good citrus habanero salsa. You can put it on anything

Ruang Tong Thai restaurant on Forest Hill/Hathaway is wicked tasty and a meal will become a delightful burn-a-thon if you ask for it.

Don't Look Back currently has their "Death Sauce" on special. It's great. I dunno what peppers they use but it's spicy.

Jamaica House on Broad near campus is great for spicy with a lot of flavor.

World Market in Short Pump might carry some good sauces. Their stock seems to rotate so it can be hit or miss.

Pleasants carries hot sauces.

I clicked thinking it was going to be a story of two people that are crazy about each other and having sexual encounters around the city........sigh.......a man can dream

i usually import my hot sauces. when i get mojos wings i always ask for extra hot. they usually put a good amount of heat in there. had the "volcano" wings last night at Gus'. they were pretty decent. nothing insane, though. i got the "make me cry" spicy level at Ginger Thai in Carytown. it was painful and i couldn't taste the last half of my meal.
