All he is saying is that this is that this will not be the final design and he's not in a position to be taking submissions at this point. This is still just an idea further planning needs to happen before anything is created.

I guess I should be more clear. I just don't want for everyone on the sub to start making caps and posting them on the sub yet. When I do want that I will ask for it and have a dedicated thread for it.
I'm not mad at you for trying, nor do I want to discourage others from doing the same. It's just not the right time yet.

Not trying to be a prick here, but isn't the point of this sub (and reddit in general) to post things related to a given topic? This is an idea posted by OP, related to r/FixedGearBicycle, and he's looking for feedback. What's wrong?
You've come across as a bit of a dictator here, choosing to "allow" this thread, and mentioning he can post "when [you] ask for it."
Am I missing something? This seemed like a legit post to me, and I feel like that sentiment is reinforced by the number of comments and upvotes here.

His problem isn't with the post itself or the effort to make a design. He is saying that now isn't the time and he was just gauging interest. He isn't at a point where he can be accepting designs and to post again when he is ready.
As u/zoidd said in the other thread this sub does not belong to us and the majority of these upvotes aren't coming from the regular community members.

I get what you're saying about the dictator thing, but my intent was to consolidate these posts into one thread instead of having several threads splayed all over the place. This is for a few reasons. One it wil make my life a hell of a lot easier when it comes time for a voting thread. Two, so that the sub doesn't doesn't get inundated with "look at my cap" threads. I think this could get annoying after a while.
I don't have issue with this post, but I think that continuing this trend could be bad.
As long as you do it this respectfully, feel free to challenge me. I am wrong a lot and sometimes I need someone to show me that I am.

No use crying over spilled milk. Take the feedback you've gotten here and change as needed.
But on the other hand, you probably want to post your revised cap. I'm not sure what to say. For now just revise it, but don't post it. We'll have (probably several) discussion threads for this stuff later.

If the "classy as fuck" wasn't on it I'd rock it. Otherwise it's great, love the coloured pattern

At first, I didn't like the "Classy as Fuck", but then realized if I don't want to display it all the time, I could turn the bill down. Kind of like those t-shirts with the "ask me about my dinosaur" on the front and a dinosaur on the inside.

I love the clean look of the polygonal and relaxed colors on the 3 panels, but the "classy as fuck" just really throws it off. It's the font. It just doesn't match the rest of this hat at all in my opinion. Could be dope in small, white, hand-drawn cursive or something. Also, i would make the cog on the side panel white or another color besides black, because it sitting over the black panel looks whack. Just my two cents! I'm sure this will sell, but my design critique is honest :) have a good one!

I like it for the most part. As others said the font could be different. I think its interesting how fast you came up with that based on my suggestion and the others.
I agree on the reddit symbol being changed to be more visible.
But I would rock it pretty much as it with minor changes. I actually really like those colors. And the "classy as fuck" really works with them.

Thanks man, much appreciated! I figured I'd take a stab since I hadn't seen anything else since reading about it. I'll definitely make another iteration based on people's feedback. I was just going off what direction I had and now I have more.

We might have to explore two designs, one with the under the brim text and one without. Overall I like the design but people should know this is a mockup and actual implementation is going to change slightly. The font would likely change, the gear would become a more contrasty colour, etc. the hardest part is likely going to be sourcing fabric with that pattern on it.
I feel this mockup is in the direction most people want. I get both sides of the "Classy as Fuck" text, clearly we would have to offer it up without that to be inclusive, don't worry.

"Classy as fuck" aside, I'd rather it say r/fgb on both sides (with the slash before the r so we don't look like plebs). No alien.

There is no better way to affirm that the wearer is anything but classy as fuck.
Diggin the design and I like the colors although I think it looks more seasonal then all year... Glad its not neon though! The "classy as fuck" looks more like "cheesey as fuck. But overall seems like a great start.
Would r/fgb be better served on the back of the cap where the ellastic is? Maybe even under the bill would be cool. I'm sure that not all of us like to rock the bill flaped up and it would add a suddle touch.
I like this suggestion to have r/fixedgearbicycle (or r/fgb) across the back in just the one place. It's cleaner.

Clearly you missed the other thread where this was discussed.
This is the only reason "classy as fuck" was used in my design. I had very little direction and did my best with what was given.
Hey, you did a great job so don't be down on yourself. The feedback you are getting is all constructive and any changes needed to be made are only going to improve the design. The underbill slogan was always going to have to be optional as not everyone is going to want something so polarizing. It's encouraging to see how many do want it though. Here are some photos of one of my favorite caps, might give you some ideas on how to tweak things a bit.

Don't worry, it's just a mock up! We can do whatever we want with it. I went with this because it was in the original thread about this cap design but am open to whatever we want it to be!
