Day 50, feeling great. Please hang in there.

I just want to tell anyone suffering through the acute withdrawal phase that it will get better. You might go through some very dark days. I was there, this time, I was surprised how low I went. Fortunately there was a little voice - the voice of my rational mind - that managed to break through. "Ride it out, ride it out..." Like swimming perpendicular to a rip current with the understanding that you will eventually emerge from the danger. Keep swimming. It will get better.

I just finished a brutal workout in my crappy homemade basement gym. I can't emphasize enough the importance of exercise. Find something you enjoy that gets your heart pumping, gets the endorphins going, gets you sweating. It can be difficult to get started - but once you do, you will thank yourself. All I can think about right now is how the good sweat of a workout feels so much better than the foul sweat of WDs. God that shit sucks. Keep fighting.

I'm at day 50 and I have been feeling really fantastic. Life isn't perfect, but it's a whole lot better than it was as an addict. Keep fighting this battle. You CAN do it, you are worth it.

It'll just keep getting better. Not perfect - but better.

I'm still dealing with lingering symptoms so that's good to hear that you are feeling better. It has been a long long journey. I totally agree with the exercising too. I think that helps more than anything else. Keep up the good work!

Sorry, Jay, I have seen that you are still encountering the occasional symptom of WD. I hope that will subside for you soon. If I have been following your story correctly you came off an extract - and they are really rough. Be patient and you WILL come out the other side, I promise. Thank you for the kind words and hang in there.

Oh, I didn't know that Jay ! Yeah, this is true….I have a good friend who came off extracts and she hopped to plain leaf first to make the transition smoother….but she's still on the PL. You wanted to be DONE. She said it was a long process. 90 days and then she felt lots better…..hang in there !!!

Exercise is awesome, I am still early in quitting so it is hard to get motivated but I feel great afterwards.

Yeah, it can be really hard to get going - but once you do, it's so worth it. Definitely the top recommendation I would give to anyone going through WDs. Get past those first days of acute WD (where exercise would be unrealistic) then get yourself moving.
