A partial catalogue of the facts and statements of others that /u/Seamus_Duncan has lied about or misrepresented.

In addition to the multiple, previous, examples, we have yet another instance in which u/Seamus_Duncan, is either--

  • EXPLICITLY LYING

or

  • Has become completely confused about the information that he, himself has asked about and been given answers to.

Either way, it makes it very difficult to trust the truthfulness of anything he writes.

In this post, u/Seamus_Duncan makes the following false statement:

I've asked u/EvidenceProf about this on his blog. It always goes something like this: EP: Adnan never claimed he remained on campus!

SD: Ok, can you please confirm that by releasing his own post-2:15 timelines?

EP: . . . No

This is simply either a purposeful lie, or he cannot be counted on to accurately remember and truthfully represent information that he has been given.

On May 11th he had the following exchange with u/EvidenceProf in which he asked:

According to you, "Adnan never claimed that he remained on the school campus from 2:15 to 3:30 P.M. on January 13th." Can you please produce the remaining pages of these documents so we can verify what Adnan's stated alibi was?

/u/EvidenceProf told him that the page of notes was the only one that existed. (Something, in a separate answer also represented the clerk has authenticated):

Seamus: As far as I know, that is the only page of notes the clerk took. In addition to listing Adnan's class schedule up until the end of school at 2:15, you can see the mention of Asia and her boyfriend seeing Adnan at the library "@ 3:00" followed by track practice at 3:30. As we've noted on Undisclosed, the defense wasn't led to believe that the period after track practice was important until trial or at least the eve of trial

Seamus then asked about this page:

What about this page where Adnan wrote out his schedule? Surely he didn't stop at 2:15, a time when everyone acknowledges Hae was still alive.

And u/EvidenceProf told him that, again, it is the only page that exists:

Seamus: That document pretty clearly only documents Adnan's school day. As you can see from the document, the entire thing is single spaced, and then there are two blank lines at the end of the document. I'm not aware of there being a page 2.

Then on May 18th he, again, asked:

The only timelines we've seen from Adnan cut off at 2:15. How can we verify what Adnan told his lawyers if you only let us see part of his day?

And u/EvidenceProf again told him that:

Seamus: The notes by both the lawyer and her clerk include Asia seeing Adnan at the library and Adnan going to track practice. The other document only lays out Adnan's school day; there are no notes about what he did after 2:15. In any event, what's relevant, from a legal perspective at least, is what the State can prove. If the State had any evidence that Adnan said he remained on the school campus until track, they would have cited to it in their brief.

There is no reasonable way u/Seamus_Duncan could come away from those answers with what he falsely reported:

  • The document that he himself linked to explicitly states that Adnan saw Asia in the library at 3:00 and had track practice at 3:30. That alone is an example in DIRECT CONTRADICTION to Seamus's false contention that there is nothing in the case file from Adnan about what he did after 2:15.

  • Furthermore, what he repeatedly asked about is further pages in the documents that exist beyond the two pages linked. And what he was repeatedly told was that there are not further pages that can be released because they do not exist -- that those two pages are the only pages of each document.

It's fine for u/Seamus_Duncan to say that he doesn't believe Colin Miller. But that is not what he is doing. Instead it is another example in which u/Seamus_Duncan is lying about what someone says to him:

Seamus is pretending that instead of telling him that those are the only pages that exist, u/EvidenceProf tells him no, they will not release the pages he alleges to him.

And Seamus is either purposefully bearing false witness in order to make it appear to other people that u/EvidenceProf has conceded that Seamus's alleged pages actually exist when they do not, and that u/EvidenceProf is refusing to give the pages to him, OR Seamus is actually confused about the factual content of the answers that Colin Miller has given him and the things that he writes cannot be trusted as accurate or truthful.

There are people who can reasonably think that Adnan is guilty, people who can reasonably believe he is not, people still undecided, and people leaning one way or the other. But this continued pattern of behavior with u/Seamus_Duncan does a disservice to anyone attempting to honestly participate in this community -- especially in the way it cast an unfairly negative light on the people who hold legitimate views about Adnan's guilt.

ETA -- Another documented lie from this thread.

Here we have three more instances, in the long line of examples, of u/Seamus_duncan purposefully lying about facts in this case.

Adnan said under oath he would have confessed to the crime in exchange for a plea

Adnan never said he "would have confessed to the crime in exchange for a plea". u/Seamus_duncan knows this -- knows he absolutely cannot provide any proof of Adnan saying this, and yet Seamus purposefully lies anyway and makes this false claim.

A reasonable plea would require him to confess.

and

He would have to confess and describe the crime in order to secure this deal

Again, u/Seamus_duncan either does not understand of the laws surrounding this case to the point that he should be prevented from spreading false information and confusing other people coming to this sub correct information OR he is purposefully lying.

Accepting a plea deal in Maryland does not "require him to confess". In fact accepting a plea in Maryland does not require anyone to plead Guilty. Maryland accepts both Alford Plea and No Contest pleas to be entered in capital cases and plea bargains and [such pleas](http://articles.herald-mail.com/1998-12-23/news/25111039_1_shooting-spree-plea-agreement-contest-plea) are commonly used in capital and murder cases. Here are but a few examples of such cases:

  • 57-year old Stephen Salb entered an Alford plea to first degree murder in of his wife, who had 9 stab wounds and over 100 cuts.

  • Gary James Smith entered an Alford plea after being charged with first and second degree murder and serving five years in prison for the shooting death of his roommate, in which Smith was found covered in the roommate’s blood.

  • [39-year old Donna Wood] entered in Alford plea](http://www.capitalgazette.com/cg2-arc-140514cn-murder-plea-20140513-story.html) , pleading down to second degree murder, after being charged with first degree murder of her husband. Her sleeping husband was stabbed 11 times with an 8-inch long kitchen knife. The next morning Wood called 911 claiming her husband had tried to kill himself.

  • 20-year old Samantha Bachynski plead no contest in a plea agreement reducing a first degree murder charge to second degree murder. Bachynski and her boyfriend murdered three people during a 2006 killing spree that including killing a man and his pregnant wife in their Baltimore home.

  • 17-year old Mairese Washington plead no contest to killing an 8-year old boy, receiving 40 year sentence with 10 suspended in the plea deal. Washington was also accused of assaulting the boy’s 12-year-old sister. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped charges of malicious wounding and strangulation involving the girl.

  • Maryland man, Shakeem Miles entered an Alford plea to second degree murder and a 20-year recommended sentence in the violent, 32-stab wound murder of another man. "In exchange for the plea, other charges were dismissed, including first-degree murder, which carries a maximum of life" and because he was already on parole according to Maryland corrections.

  • 22-year old Stephanie Williams entered an Alford plea in a plea agreement that could still result in a 20 year sentence for the death by blunt force trauma of her daughter.

  • 23-year old Brock Smith plead no contest in a plea agreement for voluntary manslaughter in the first degree murder case of shooting another Maryland man he went to prison with. Smith was pursued between Virginia and Maryland before being apprehended by Maryland police after a crashing his car during an extended chase.

  • Maryland woman, Jessica Ewing entered an Alford in the first degree murder of a 21-year old biology student she experimented with sexually. Death was by strangulation. The murdered woman’s body was found 3 days later, naked and stuffed into a sleeping bag in the back of her Mercedes. Diary entries revealed Ewing planned to burn the body after killing her.

These are flagrant, factually incorrect claims that cannot be backed up with evidence. u/Seamus_duncan's continual lying and misrepresentation of facts is particularly hypocritical given his often equally factually incorrect claims that other public figures in this case are lying and this subreddit rule violating behavior has been an ongoing problem affecting people attempting to learn truthful information regarding this case.
