Didn't You?
So many months of chasing you,
trying desperately to get through,
to steal your heart and make it true.
You loved me didn’t you?
So long my heart it did pursue,
and not once slowed in trying to,
break down the walls protecting you.
You loved me didn’t you?
Now many hours left in a daze,
my heart a swirling confused haze,
I think back on all those precious ways.
You loved me didn’t you?
Now what’s ahead I cannot see,
my eyes are blinded, heart set free,
it tells me that this cannot be.
You loved me didn’t you?
Alone in quiet solitude,
as always thoughts of only you,
I don’t know what I’m going to do.
You loved me didn’t you?
Broken for so many years,
shed so many fruitless tears,
and now they’re back, familiar fears.
You loved me didn’t you?
