Presidential Election
I typically don't think of myself as a poet. Partially because up until a month ago I didn't remotely understand poetry, despite my best efforts. However, sometimes things like these are in my head and I've started writing them down. Also please understand I'm not trying to offend anyone. In this I'm attempting to say what I've been hearing in the Media about this upcoming U.S. Election and how I feel as though according to the media there are only bad choices.
TL;DR I guess what I'm mainly what I'm asking is: Is this poetry? If not what is it? If it is how can I improve it?
Presidential election
Candidate selection
Wall erection?
Humble suggestion
More selection
Yes protection
But affection
My recollection
The direction
Of the nation
Was immigration.
Train station
Bus station
Any migration
'Merica's foundation.
Regardless of location
Without them
Stagnation.
With them
Rejuvenation.
Physician politician
Muslim prohibition
Terror suspicion
No admission?
Illegal inhibition
Oppressive opposition
Unfounded superstition
Discrimination's definition
Nazi resurrection
Sorry surgeon
Denied permission
Presidential commission
Mrs. Clinton
Bid in
President station
Email frustration
Benghazi situation
More taxation?
Required vaccination?
Common core education?
Trust exploitation
Low expectation
High fabrication
No exhortation
Rescind aspiration
Sanders flirtation
Oval Office habitation.
Claims stagnation
Country desolation.
New proclamation
"Free" college dispensation
Wealth distribution.
No moderation
Just paycheck strangulation
Already subtraction
Of tax relocation
Leaves minimum compensation
$5.98/hr approximation
Not $7.25 expectation.
And he wants acceleration
Of wage devaluation!
Excuse my exclamation
But no justification
Or any rationalization
Of radical collectivization.
Every year of election
Difficult unification
2016 no exception
No politician
Gets a standing ovation
Some voters resort
To star divination
In order to impose
Some simplification
But it's our hard won right
Generations had to fight
So that we might
Go vote without fright
So yeah I'll pick
Someone to stick
Permanent candidate
Till I graduate
And they don't rate
And this entire cycle
Ruthlessly spirals
Back to the beginning
Another new inning
Another set of batters
One staggers
Onto the field
Has some good points
But the polls don't yield
Stiff joints
Make bad batters
Another player
But we don't want played
Just a liar
In a suit
Who's fortune's made
That one's too crazy
This one's too lazy
And look now second best is gone
But it's the same story
They forget we're not pawns
Presidents work for us
The residents
We are your boss
But we're at a loss
To pick one of the bad choices
Cause each one is bad
According to the voices
In the media
But they've lied too
They're like Wikipedia
We make them
And Break them
And they say one thing
And then another writes bling
Before I resign to chose
And pick which antagonist will win or loose
I would like to remind the government
YOU work for US
Depend on us for retirement
When all of you are in your mansions
Payed for by our contributions
To your salaries
We will still be paying
Running on dead batteries
For your mistakes
So before your big breaks
Every politician should quake
Beneath the eye of every generation
Because on our backs is the nation.
