Without Your Hand.

Though far apart our bodies be
We feel as close as sun and sea.
I stand with you on your far shore
together we will be once more.

Our spirit ripe in lover’s hearth
We cannot help but drift apart.
Again I feel that shadows grasp
which once you helped me from its clasp.

I know the face of your disdain
When feelings from the heart you feign.
They fall away out of your hands
Like grains of precious ceding sands.

If time cannot undo our lust
a mile and meter can well break trust.
You think I do not see your fight
While I lie broke, alone at night.

I fear I’ll pass the hollow man
Who knows not but his stodgy plan
A life of naught upon the Styx,
while in the seventh I’ll exist.

I do my best, my love to show
That I am more than just this woe.
Noble your soul to bare this weight
When quick are most to abdicate.

The time now comes that you must hold
yourself above my shattered mold.
Please keep to you, I am no pest
and free yourself from my unrest.

But if I trust that I am me
and say you see that you are thee.
We may again be hand in hand.
If on my own I can now stand.
