I will one day be the light

Demeaned. Defeated, emotionally battered, bruised & tattered.

What energy is this world trying to elicit from within us while its continuum of hate is disseminated through every particle of air?

But I refuse.

I refuse to inhale the negativity further.

I see what it's done, the damage its caused, the dirt seeping further into my essence - filling my soul slowly with tar, taking me to a place of silence, remorse - a place of darkness.

My conscience knows, but it fools the mind.

Deception.

How to abate the negativity?

A constant battle.

They say to eradicate it, but that takes power - how can I have power when the facets of the world have left me powerless?

The world belies, the appearance of luminescence amidst the bustle of violence, hatred, detest.

It absconds with the sun quickly, allowing darkness to overcome.

Say, is this that world of glory sugar coated, the world we were made to know, the world of humility?

I refuse.

I refuse to give into the warped corners, the dead ends of anger.

My teary eyes betraying the inner darkness...no longer will it consume me, leaving my soul gasping for a glimpse of light.

I will one day be the light.
