[CONFLICT] Invasion of Ogaden
Thanks to our conscription, Ethiopia now possesses one of the largest armies in Africa, consisting of 845,838 soldiers, as well as possibly sizable presence within Somalia, although the exact successes have not been determined yet. Ethiopians who were previously in the region are instructed to be offensive against local rebels. On October 5, 1959, 40 IL-28 and 36 Martin B 26 bomber planes were flown into Ogaden, and bombed fortifications across the border, and dropped 1,500 sulfur-mustard bombs, as well as bombing Highways No 8 connecting from Asella to Mogadishu, No 44 from Shashamene to Dolo Odo, and No 30 from Jijiga to the Shabelle valley, to weaken the power of Somalia. The 20,000 men patrolling the border were ordered to march in and fire upon anyone going against them, while not overtly firing on civilians. 60 M4 Sherman Tanks and 15,000 Ford GP 4x4 Utility Vehicles and other motor vehicles carrying 100,000 soldiers carrying 20,000 AK-47 assault rifles, 10,000 Carcano rifles, 10,000 Karabiner 98k rifles, 30,000 T48 Rifles, 15,000 M1 Thompson Submachine Guns, and 25,000 Goryunov medium machine guns went across the border and fought against the Somali army. The Christian Liberation of Ogaden Army, who were previously involved on attacks, were given 65 120-PM-43 mortars, 1,000 Tokarev TT-30 pistols and 400 sulphur-mustard bombs.
