Electric charger installation recommendation?
Hi! Has anyone gotten a home electric charger for a car installed recently? Any recommended companies, good/bad experiences, or things to watch out for?
Thanks!

Any electrical company can do it but cost will vary greatly depending on your home. What amperage is hydro delivering you? How much room in your panel? How is your home finished? Finished basement makes running wiring much more costly
Good questions. Don't know if there's room in the panel, I think it's a 100amp panel. Older house, basement is unfinished and the panel is like 10 feet from garage, should be a simple job.
The price will be highly dependent on the distance to your panel and how easy it is to fish the wire there.
+1 on the NEMA 14-50. If you ever decide to change charging stations, it'll save you another call to the electrician.
It also means you don't run the risk of paying a "premium" for the work because they know you can get a govt rebate for it. Just tell them you're calling for a quote to install a 240V 50A outlet in your garage, or NEMA 14-50 if you prefer to be specific. They don't need to know what it's for. Just make sure the charger you buy has a NEMA 14-50 plug or allows you the option of wiring one up.
Save all the paperwork for the installation and the charger. There's a big fat rebate you can get from the Ontario gov as long as the charger is on their approved list.
If you can share what kind of EV you drive, it might be easier to recommend a unit. NEMA 14-50 is a no brainer for Teslas but not necessarily the best bang for the buck for something like a Chevy Volt.
If I get a NEMA 14-50 installed by electrician, where do I buy the wall station to convert to the Leaf connector?
Wherever you want! Keep in mind that if you want to get the government to pay for it, it has to be on their authorized chargers list:

This one looks like a good choice:

There's also this one, it's a bit cheaper. It has a NEMA 6-50 plug instead of a 14-50, so you can ask your electrician to do that. However, it's unclear if this one is on the approved list for the government rebate.

Sweet thanks, I was having trouble finding one with a 240v plug at the end. That one looks like it should work!
Boss electric.
Depending on your amp service, it is much easier to get a Nema 14-50 plug installed and use that. Much cheaper then the power walls, but not as pretty
Sounds like a nema is the way to go then. Ill still need a wall charger to convert from nema to the leaf connector though, right?
