Which draft class produced the best trio this past decade?

If you had to select the best 3 players from the draft from the past 10 years which year would win? And how do the best compare with the best of 03: Lebron, Melo, Wade. 06- Aldridge, Lowry, Millsap

07- Durant, Conley, Horford

08- Westbrook, DRose, KLove

09- Curry, Harden, B.Griffin

10- Wall, Cousins, PGeorge

11- Kyrie, Klay, Kawahi

12- ADavis, Lillard, Drummond

13- Oladipo, Giannis, McCollum

14- Wiggins, Parker, Embiid

15- KAT, Oakafor, Porzingis

16- Simmons, Ingram, Hield

Can't put Embiid considering he's never played a game

Maybe Aaron Gordon then?

It was a pretty light year in terms of talent, only other options are Lavine or Gordon.

Both of them have actually played games though.

Smart over Gordon.

09 has the best player, best shooting guard and a top 3 power forward. Not even a question

I think he means Curry as the best player, Harden as the shooting guard.

At this point it's between 2009, 2010, and 2011. I'd go with 2009.

Fuck it, I'll rank them:

  1. 2010
  2. 2009
  3. 2011
  4. 2007
  5. 2012
  6. 2008
  7. 2014 (replace Embiid with Zach LaVine or Rodney Hood...or Jokic)
  8. 2015
  9. 2013 (replace either Dipo or CJ with Rudy Gobert)
  10. 2016

2013,14,15,16 all in bottom 4. Man we have had some weak top heavy drafts lately.

Not so much that (although 2013 was always considered weak, even going into the draft class), but since most of those players are still so young (or in 16's case, haven't even played yet), it's harder to get a good reading on them this early. 2012 was definitely aided by the fact that Davis is a generational talent and Lillard was a senior coming into the NBA. 2016 is still a mystery, but I see 2014 and 2015 turning out to be excellent classes going forward. In addition to the guys OP listed, you have guys like LaVine, Hood, TJ Warren, Gordon, Randle, and Exum from 2014 and guys like Booker, Winslow, Johnson, Hezonja, DLo, and Turner from 2015.

2007 was a pretty weak class outside of the top 4/5 guys and as of now, 2012 looks pretty top-heavy as well so I can easily see the 2014/15 classes surpassing one, if not both of those in the next 4-5 years.

The most recent drafts rank in the bottom 4 probably because the players haven't been able to fully develop yet, while guys from the older drafts are in their prime right now. If the list is redone in the future it probably looks different.

It's kinda unfair to the 15 and 16 drafts because one group only played for one year and the other three haven't even played a game yet. But I think the three bigs in the 15 draft are all gonna be special.

BlindManBaldwinNuggets•

09 now but 15 has the potential to be something great.

Also I'd use Murray instead of Hield for 16

2
YungDankJesus69Knicks•

In 2 years the 15 draft will be looked at as one of the best. All three bigs look like they're special.

2
animal_crackers[BOS] Tom Heinsohn•

09,10, 11 look like the strongest to me. I'd probably go 09, that offense would be outrageous.

2
tkykid91Trail Blazers•

If you threw all these guys in a 3-on-3 tournament and assuming everyone is in their prime, I think the top 3 teams would be '03, '09, '10, though honestly I could be swayed for '10 to come in second.

2
migcal[CHI] Derrick Rose•

09 easily

I can't decide whether I'd choose 10 or 11 as second

08 will always be first in my heart

2
mcb25Celtics•

Draymond > Drummond for 12

2
walterdog12[BOS] James Young•

09 is easily the best.

1
GlacierPineapple[GSW] Draymond Green•

'08-'11 are all gold

Maybe '09?

07 team should be Conley / Durant / Marc Gasol.

Or honestly, if you just want pure talent, Joakim Noah / Durant / Gasol. 2 DPOYs paired up with an MVP.
