Spell scrolls post RoV
Hi all,
I'm thinking about returning, I've played off and on, (mostly off) and I know that since RoV, gear has become trivial to get and stay on top of while levelling.
My question is, have spells? Are key enhances still horrifyingly expensive coughphalanxcough. Are certain spells still locked behind city campaign rankings?
Are the above still true but it doesn't matter anyway because higher ranks are available for pennies?

Phalanx is pretty cheap now, only about 100k. Some of the stronger spells are actually locked behind Capactiy points (Experience points post 99).
Is that a result of more sources for spells, higher drop rates, or lower demand?
There was an event recently that caused some BCNM scroll drops to flood the market. It was 1.5 mill on Asura a few weeks ago. Probably will rise slowly. The other big one being Utsusemi Ni.

Utsusemi Ni was a quest reward, correct?
I don't remember what state my character is in other than "nothing special", so I'm contemplating just nuking and paving if it won't put me too out of pocket
Utsusemi Ichi was the quest reward. Ni came from BCNMs so they are affected by the event.
Converting sparks to gil is an easy way to fund your spells. Just make sure you also check vendors as opposed to AH only.
Its not too bad overall though.
If you spend an hour or two during the Limited Time Challenge: Gain Experience, you'll make enough sparks to cover spell costs.
Its a result of a just ended Campaign that had additional drops from some BCNM's. I'd imagine those will start to creep back up within another month or two. Phalanx was considerably higher just a few months ago.
Bear in mind that you can still buy those scrolls on the auction house.
That's what he was referring to. Phalanx only drops from a BCNM. Phalanx was going for like 1-2mil on the AH on some servers a few weeks ago, now those same servers have it for 100k.
