[FAQ answers] miilkshakes' stash of resources
EDIT: Up-to-date as of 11/8/16
Hey all,
i noticed a lot of recurring questions, so this is my effort to consolidate our sub's learnings. i'll be updating this whenever i get the chance. suggestions are welcome.
When do daily quests reset?
Daily quests reset at 10pm PT [(source)] (http://www.kongregate.com/forums/36128-general/topics/680687-official-daily-timer-quest-requirements-update). Challenges have their own timer. See the Challenge Rewards Chart for info (also linked below).
What about challenges?
- Challenges vary in length (can be days or a weeks) and have it's own energy resource.
- All challenges reset THEIR ENTIRE ENERGY BAR at the designated time.
- Challenges will have a 24 hour countdown before it expires and typically end at 10am PT.
- For rewards, see Challenge Rewards Chart.
Should I buy the [special challenge card] or box packs?
- Final form cards, in general, are pretty good if you can fuse them to the same level as the majority of cards in your deck. Final form cards are equivalent to playing 2 cards at once. Box packs have higher potential, but are a roll of the dice.
- Bob Gene, Drunk Fry, S & M Peter
Did they recently improve/worsen drop rates?
- It is more likely RNG than change in drop rates.
- Farming and Drop Rate Calculations, thanks to u/Lob_51 who did the original calculations
I'm new. How do I improve my deck?
- Keep your deck at 25 cards.
- Aim for an even split between character and action cards (12-13 is often recommended).
- Higher rarity characters are typically better. However, Fry and Linda are excellent; and Bill, Teddy, Quagmire, and Gene are great rares.
- For action cards, get the highest HP/attack statted one you can. Props to u/zenchino for first bringing it up.
- Alcohol, music, and weapons are currently favorite action/type cards. There is a good character card discussion here.
Should I upgrade my cards?
See : Cost to upgrade and how much you get back from recycling. TLDR:
- You get 94% back from maxed commons, 65% from rares, etc. It's fine to liberally upgrade commons to maximize progression.
- Rares are expensive to upgrade past 1^, so stop at 2^ - 3^* if there is a farmable replacement.
- For dailies, you can upgrade a rare once (to Lv 2) and lose 0 energy.
Should I fuse my cards?
- My fusing philosophy is that if you find yourself holding onto a card in your hard and playing other cards often, you should fuse them. Matches are usually decided in the first few turns, so you want superstar cards that can single handedly turn the game your way.
I just got [Character]. What are good combos for him? / How do I make combo X?
- Animationthrowdown.net has a great combo list.
What are the best cards of each type/theme?
What are the best skills?
- Skill tiers discussion here. The most relevant part is seeing where/how each skills activate.
