Laughed out loud, one of the reasons I love simplicity in poetry sometimes, it doesn't really beg for explanation and just is plainly funny. Good job.

Don't know if you need to say "the fuck" though. I think saying "Who owns that broccoli" is weirder and leaves me thinking about a speaker who is confused and being haunted by a broccoli ghost.

Anyway. This is great yeah. 



//edit// I would love to read a series about each item of food in the fridge, one for the milk etc., or for wayward laundry, or "Who's toothpaste is that?" I think it'd be hilarious. 

This poem annoys me.  Some may say I am being stuck up.

It is nonsense.  Maybe you think poetry is a very stuck up culture and needs this nonsense.  I agree.

Maybe you are making a statement about how mundane everyday life is.  I agree.

The narrator of this poem is petty and lazy, as they have not done anything about the broccoli for 4 weeks.

And what is a huge broccoli?  What is a broccoli?  Is that proper usage?  The narrator talks funny.  

The title helps my understanding.  So to me this poem just scratches at the bigger issue of our disconnected culture.  

This poem is like small talk:  verging on witty and not touching on anything politically incorrect.  I challenge you to challenge people.

I would replace '4 weeks' to a non-numerative time indicator. Like 'wilting away its B12' (idk if broccolis do this when they spoil, but just as an example. 


I'm imagining an ambitious college student thinking they would get off the instant noodle diet and move into the fruits and vegetables diet . Then staring at the giant broccoli in the fridge every day, thinking they'll start the diet tmr. Amazing how so much was conveyed through such a short poem! :)
