How to be Invincible! Best Synergy in the Game!
##Hey everybody! Welcome back to another Binding of Isaac post.
Today's post is a little bit different because I'm actually going to showcase a fairly unknown synergy in the game that actually makes you 100% invincible in the game. Wow Tyler big talk. Clickbaity title. Cockiness. Trust me, you’re in for a fun ride. It should also be noted that if you want to see this synergy in all of its glory in a video form, you can click right here. It’s essentially a guarantee that you will win any run you start with any character, Keeper and Lost included. The craziest part is, this synergy only requires four fairly easy to get items.
- The Habit
- Battery
- Car Battery
- Dull Razor
That's it. But how does it work? Well for those that don't know how these four items work, let's go into detail there first.
The Habit
The Habit is a passive item that can be found in the Shop or Angel deal. It allows for one notch on an active item's charge to be filled when Isaac takes damage. It's most commonly used with items like the D6 to trade damage for charges.
Car Battery
Car Battery is a passive item found in the shop. It simply doubles the effect of an active item, allowing for some wild doubles effects such as, getting two soul hearts from Book of Revelations or doubling the amount of flies from Guppy's Head.
Dull Razor
Dull Razor is an active item with a two room charge found in the Shop pool. Upon usage, it will "hurt" Isaac without making him take any damage, activating any items or effects that require getting hit.
The Battery
The Battery is a passive item found in the shop that simply allows for an extra charge to be stored on your active item.
So for those that still aren't seeing the synergy, allow me to explain. Since car battery will double the usage of Dull Razor, it will "hurt" Isaac twice. This will then activate the Habit twice since Isaac thinks he got hit, refilling the Dull Razor completely and allowing it to be used again. The Battery is needed in this synergy for it to work, despite it not really making sense in this synergy. Just trust me on it.
So what?
This allows for you to do many many valuable tricks in the game that are really only doable with an item like Isaac's Heart. You can enter cursed rooms for free. You play Demon Beggars infinitely. You can even play Blood Machines until you get that IV Bag or Blood Bag pop.
You said we'd be invincible, seems like you just gave us Isaac's Heart
Yes and no. Since Isaac appears to have been hurt and it activates the hurt Isaac animation, nothing else can hurt you while you are hurt, allowing you to spam the spacebar item infinitely to never take damage on a run again.
But how will I deal damage?
I'm glad you asked. The main way to deal damage with this synergy is by simply having any orbital in the game. Hell, give me Obsessed Fan I don't care (sorry Obsessed Fan). You can slam into enemies as long as you continue to spam your spacebar for the eternity of the run.
But this is still not the greatest synergy. Allow me to present to the Lord and Savior, drumroll please...
Varicose Veins
What?
Yup. Since Varicose Veins spews out a Tammy's Head style shot when you get hit, it is activated by Dull Razor. This allows for infinite shots to be fired out all around you at an absolutely stupid rate. You'll deal damage to the entire room just with the press of the spacebar and be invincible while doing so. Also, since Car Battery is activated, it's going to double the shots coming out of your body, making you even more powerful. Still don't believe me? Cricket’s Body / Compound Fracture
These two items are becoming a staple on my posts and it’s clear to see why. With many bones flying out everywhere, the floor is gonna get covered with bones as they split into more and more and more. I’ve explained before, but it just looks dope as hell. If you thought this one was cool, you’re in for a sweet treat in the next few.
My Reflection
My Reflection? You mean the crappy boomerang tears item? It becomes incredible in this situation. Since My Reflection pushes a ton of tears around you, you become a body of tears on top of yourself that you can slam into enemies. Not to mention that you literally will not take damage regardless as you’re slamming into enemies but there’s a sort of pleasure you can from doing this. It’s also fun to say ‘screw you’ to the game and take Ipecac. This will give you what is considered one of the worst synergies in the game, but in this case, it’s just a lot of great damage. Lot of fun.
Tiny Planet
Another item that just isn’t as great usually becomes really great here. When popping our Dull Razor, the Varicose Veins tears will orbit around you in a larger radius than My Reflection did. This creates some really awesome looking tears Some other great synergies with Tiny Planet with this Dull Razor synergy could be Lump of Coal or Death’s Touch.
Dr. Fetus
This is where things go buck wild. For once, you don’t need Pyromaniac or Host Hat to make Dr. Fetus incredible. Since you can’t take damage from anything while pressing the spacebar, you will be spawning an infinite number of bombs around you forever. This becomes even crazier when you have other bomb synergies. For example, glitter bombs makes this stupidly ridiculously and breaks the game. Combined with a D20 you’re even more of a God than you initially were.
Brimstone
You expected it. Say what’s up hello to Tammy’s Head Brimstone that you can pop an infinite amount of times per room. This will decimate everything. Like seriously. Everything. It’ll defeat Hush in about 10 seconds. That’s stupid. I love it. There’s other great synergies here that you could add to Brimstone such as Rubber Cement and Homing Tears but I’ll leave that to your guys imagination as what that would look like.
Mom’s Knife
Finally we got Mom’s Knife.
Ew Mom’s Knife. Tyler don’t you know that this item has no synergies and sucks and is the worst item on the planet?
Shut up. Mom’s Knife in this situation is one of the coolest synergies out there. Shooting out 20 some beautiful knives in every which direction is crazy good and very high damage. Where the synergy is really good is when you add Tiny Planet to it. I introduce to you, The Binding of Isaac AntiSaw. If you thought Super Meat Boy didn’t have enough references in this game, this takes it to a whole new levels. This amazing synergy, like Brimstone will decimate Hush in under 10 seconds and it just looks incredible as the knives will spin around in a circle before flying out all directions. Oh and you were wondering what it would do to Delirium? It’s even quicker.
As you can see, this is one of the most powerful synergies in the game if not the most powerful. You’re invincible. There’s nothing here that can harm you since you’re harming yourself in the process. I hope you enjoyed! me know what you think of the synergy and give me some more ideas for some videos.
