To Tara, Tripping Too
How do you look down on the drop
as
you
fall
I don't know, but I did.
You, your eyes are on the cliff
of what it does to the nerve
endings; capsules contain beginnings,
but you don't know it, you've never been
but once in a womb, you've never felt
how to truly swoon, you take
her but I've been numb to her breast before
during and after hurt
cuts what it can and trips
when the rug is pulled,
and there is no floor and you don't float you
don't glide, you scream over what isn't
there nor has ever been nor never
has been but what is
sure is that it won't be again
for being is out
and the order in
life is enjambed
in sugar and sorrow
and sweet,
I miss you
