False Fairfight bans officially confirmed [PC]
Over the past few months many people were claiming to be falsely banned by Fairfight.
Today an official statement was released by the head of anticheat.
Hello Battlefield players, We’ve recently addressed an issue where players have been wrongfully banned from Battlefield 1. The cause was a single legitimate third party application tampering with the Battlefield 1 process, triggering a game/internal check against the player which in turn was reported to FairFight for automatic banning. Disabling the specific policy in our anti-cheat software has corrected the issue and we have lifted the ban on the affected players.
We approach anti-cheat systems cautiously. We take every step needed to suspend those who violate our Terms of Service, but also mitigate instances where an innocent player may be banned.
If you feel that you have been wrongfully suspended by our anti-cheat systems, please reach out to us at http://help.ea.com .
I personally appealed over four times and was told each time that the ban was 100% correct and would not be removed. Only a few days ago when Ali Hasoon looked into it the ban was confirmed to be a false positive and I am thankful to see Dice acknowledge that there was an issue. Unfortunately in addition to the ban, my original stats were removed (that I spent 100+ hours on) so the effects from this issue will continue.
I wish the issue was dealt with sooner but at least those effected can play again. I wonder what software caused the conflict.

So what amends have they made to those who were falsely banned and could not play their paid for game online?
As far as I can see, nothing. Some people were unable to play the game for months due to this issue and have spent many hours writing appeals, creating posts, contacting support etc. It's rather unacceptable that it was an issue in the first place and that it was left ignored for so long.
What 3rd party programs do you have running while playing BF1?
Specifically the day you got banned would be best.
Nothing out of the ordinary. I was banned twice and every time I play I have common everyday applications like Firefox in the background. Everything else gets closed down.
Only things that could tamper with the game which I used on both occasions would be MSI Afterburner or Comodo.
K, so it could be MSI (doubt it) or Comodo. But it could also be a plugin on Firefox.
I had Flux, Geforce Experience, Teamviewer and MSI Afterburner running but a lot of ppl are using them.
