5 years and 6 months I've been playing Dota 2 on and off. And this is the very first thread I've heard anything about the recipe containing a hl symbol. Actually impressed with that (maybe the symbol is a more recent thing?)
Might also be that I've never played HL but a bit impressive no one else have brought it up for me to see.

The symbol in the middle is the symbol for the main antagonists of Half Life 2, the Combine.

It's been there since at least open beta (when I started playing), likely long before that. Considering how many of the very, very early Dota 2 hero ability icons were crudely drawn puns based on a literal reading of the ability name, I'm guessing that during early development a dev slapped down the actual Combine logo as a silly pun and an artist came along later and made it pretty.

And then when I start playing dota again in 2013, I was so surprised that so many thing changed, at 2004 courier didnt even exist

I actually did this yesterday while trying to buy my Force Staff with the whole Hurricane Pike in quickbuy. I was like 3 gold short of the FS recipe (900g) so I ended up with the Hurricane Pike recipe (500g).

I think force staff needs another component and a cheaper recipe.

It's a daunting recipe cost for a support or starving 3, but defensibly it is a REALLY powerful single item. Part of what balances Blink Dagger is the gamble involved in rushing it (when everyone's squishy and the item is ludicrously effective). Force Staff is a microcosm of that, a different type of re-position effect but attached to some intel and regen.
I think you'd probably break Force Staff and create an item that's WAY too stat efficient on all intel heroes (and some others) if you add a Ring of Protection or Wind Lace to its build without increasing the cost.
You know how glad Clockwerk and Necro would be to have a bonus RoP or Wind Lace? Kreygasm

Some items have sub-components that needs recipes. If you are new and have the whole item in you quick buy it happens that you buy the comonents for eg skull basher but get the recipe for the blade. I know its hard for us 9k redditors, but it do happen.

Because it is. Even though it's mainly for cosmetic purposes, being able to see what recipe is on a courier or to quickly buy it in shop is a definite improvement, albeit a small one.

is that why they should add it? to help beginners see what recipe is on the courier? if they're gonna add it why can't it be 100% because it looks neat. i feel like a lot of members of this sub feel like icefrog is less likely to add something if they don't play the "it well help new players" card

I missed them with them in my quick buy, I honestly don't really remember how its ordered but something about how it is fucks with me.

There is Sange (Ogre club then belt then recipe) and after that Yasha in same order (Blade-band-recipe).
Edit: Or the other way around, but 100% sure they are in order.

Oh I think when I fuck it up is probably when I buy the the two stat components and then there are 2 recipes side by side in the quick buy and then I just click the wrong one.

One time I bought an Ogre Club and Belt then just totally forgot to finish Sange (on DK btw) and bought the entire Yasha before the Sange recipe. It was all in my quickbuy, I went out of my way to skip the Sange recipe and buy the Yasha instead but I have absolutely no recollection of making this decision.

honestly though, for Sange and Yasha, if I can't tell which order they are in from a glance/just know which is which (never really been in that situation, but eh.), then seeing a little diagonal sword next to another recipe with a little diagonal sword ain't gonna help too much

Also happens to me when playing Phoenix and having both Shiva's Guard and Veil of Discord / Aether Lens in quickbuy, I often accidentally buy the Shiva's recipe when I want to finish the other item.

The Combine are those 6 happy merchants on the map, profiteering from the War of the Ancients by selling combinable weapons (hence the name, although some combinations don't even make sense) to both sides. It's a forgone conclusion, that they are the actual winner of this war, and will soon start combining life-forms, most of them unfortunate souls indebted to them during the war.
Not our heroes though, they actually worked hard for their items, but not everyone is an awesome denying brutal last-hitter like they are, and once the jigg is up, it will be too little too late. They will band together when the combine starts implementing their hegemony, but in the end will go with a bang.
That last one really makes the other two irrelevant, doesn't it?
Not if dimension-breakers like Dark Seer and Tinker exist.
So Tinker is actually Dr Kleiner, his future and another dimension self.
Let's not forget the cow that charges through dimensions.
