Thanks. I wasn't completely sure about the title myself

I have a similar complaint to u/AniLana, the title and the wordplay you use in it doesn't have any immediate connection to the piece. Put it this way: there was a need to explain it to us. What does you stating it like this do, or what is it supposed to do?

I would suggest that you play around with the title.

To reinforce the idea of connected disconnect

Yes, but that's not what I asked.

Not "what does the title mean" but "why is this mechanic (wordplay) here?"

Well the title kind of reflects the content: eyes may see an calm image, but *I* see a terrifying image.

The alliteration is well formed, but I'm not seeing what use the mechanic is being put to. Sibilant /s/ sounds make me think of sneakiness, and treachery. While the rippling /r/ sounds give me the impression of comforting largeness, and motion. These two sonic impressions don't seem to jibe well against the brutal imagery presented - eating and suicide by the slitting of wrists.

The same can be probably said about the title. I see the wordplay. But I'm confused about what purpose it's trying to achieve. So it's hard to comment on it's efficacy, because, while I understand the mechanic itself, it seems to be being used in an entirely ideosyncratic manner, for unknown purposes.

No fault can be found in either mechanic, save for this one, unanswered question:

- **Why is this here?**

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted you to feel. As far as the title, it speaks to an eye-mind dissonance. Visually, nothing scary about a steak knife, but if your mind is like mine, even watching someone cut a steak can turn horrifying in your head.

Short and sweet and very rhythmical.. Gives us dreamers and sub-creators much to ponder on the meaning and the possibilities are infinite

lol I was thinking about OCD intrusive images when I wrote it, but ok.

I like the title lol, I wrote one with nearly the same title but completely different body. It's cool to see it work in different ways.

    slicing steak:
         sirloin supper;
    ripping wrist:
