Epic of Remnant II: The Woman of Agartha - Section 6 Summary
Section 6: The Pirate Princess Smiles Seductively
Man: "Haa... Haa..."
The voice of a man panting could be heard from inside the room of an extravagant hall.
???: "...ufufu. Not too shabby, are you? The ones I've called up until now either get worn out too easily or have no skills at all. I can't even be satisfied a tiny bit."
A woman voice spoke to the man, praising him.
Man: "I-Is... that so...? It's an... honor..." 'Yes! I did it! If I managed to satisfy her that means... I can still live! Unlike the others! It starts here. When I suddenly got swallowed by the ground and fell to this place, I wondered what would happen to me, but...'
Man: 'To think that my experience of making women cry could be useful one day. What a luck. Just watch, I'll crawl my way up. Using this woman, I'll keep on living and the-'
Breaking the man's thought was the woman's words.
???: "I was able to see many wonderful things tonight."
???: "A good man such as you, embracing my chest tightly like a baby."
???: "A good man such as you, desperately pleading for pleasure with your eyes closed."
???: "A good man such as you, twisting your face, trying to hold back a scream of pain."
???: "Thank you for the wonderful moments. Each and every one of them became good memories."
The man nervously answered the woman
Man: "N-No, it was also a wonderful time for me. From now on too, you can call me to-"
???: "Well then, lastly, I want you to show me one more wonderful sight. After that, it's a farewell for tonight."
???: "And that is..."
???: "You face. Your despair filled face as you realize that I will kill you. Even after I praised you so."
The man's mind went blank. For a moment, he thought he misheard her words.
Agony washed over him and he screamed out in pain.
???: "Aah... such a wonderful expression. I'm getting all hot again. I really wanted that."
???: "Do you know the two things I taught others?"
???: "If there is something you want, steal it. And then, do not desire something that you've stolen."
???: "Your body, and that wonderful expression you showed me at the last moment, I have obtained. That's why, I don't need it anymore."
The man lost his life. Killed by the woman he had just laid with.
???: "Disposing things easily is a good aspect of this town, is it not? You just have to throw it outside."
???: "Now then, I wonder what kind of wonderful man should I embrace next? There are many candidates, and there are many replacements as well. There will always be a new one."
???: "After all, you can't steal something that you already have."
???: "Everything that you don't have. Everything that you want. Steal them. Take them. Let's take them all."
???: "Then, the things that you stole, let's happily throw them away. Aah... such a bliss..."
The woman's soft laughter filled the room.
Ritsuka's group managed to sneak into the Water Capital.
Ritsuka commented that he felt as if he had seen this kind of city. d'Eon stated that it is similar to Venice, with water canal spreading around the city.
Rider commented that they could hear voices filled with anger and screams. The noises of people gambling. He could smell cheap alcohols and the smell of blood. And even the sound of a gunshot.
Ritsuka commented that there are also many trash around them. d'Eon observed the 'trash' around them.
d'Eon: "Instead of throwing useless items. It feels as if they are throwing things after they used them once."
d'Eon thought that it reminded him of the France nobles, and that he was once like that as well.
Astolfo questioned how they are going to reach the ruler of the capital. Rider proposed using the water route by stealing a gondola. However, d'Eon rejected the idea, saying that it would make them stand out too much and should be left as the last resort.
Instead, d'Eon suggested they should walk by foot and get as close as possible to the center of the Capital. Ritsuka wondered if that would be safe, considering there are a lot of people with them.
d'Eon: "The way to walk without standing out, the way to avoid the line of sight of the citizens, the method to find a place to hide yourself. Those too, are the techniques necessary for spies. For now, just follow me."
d'Eon: "However, do not move awkwardly. After all, this place is the enemy's base."
Astolfo: "Okaay! Roger!"
d'Eon had a troubled expression when he heard Astolfo's reply.
d'Eon: "That's a good response, but the one who is most likely to move awkwardly is you..."
Mashu informed them that since they would be moving under the radar, she would also suspend the connection to them for a moment, warning them to be careful.
Ritsuka's group stopped before a building that seemed to be a bar. As this was the only path they could use, d'Eon suggested that they should check the situation inside and find a chance to sneak in.
Inside, they saw the sight of two female pirates playing darts using a man as the target board. One of the pirate released her dart and struck one of the man's eye.
She cheered and declared her victory as the man screamed out in pain.
Pirate A: "If you want something, steal it. Let's do it like the teachings. As promised, I'll be taking the redhead you fancy."
Pirate B: "Yes, yes. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself with him after all, so I don't care. Cause, Don't desire something you've stolen, you know."
Pirate B: "Still... losing itself is kinda annoying. Oi! Bring more drinks!"
A man wearing a naked apron came to serve the pirate her sake but accidentally dropped the drink and stained the pirate's shoes.
Angry, the pirate punched the man, causing another pirate to comment.
Pirate C: "What a waste. Since he had a good face, I was thinking of taking him home. His tooth went flying you know, his tooth."
The pirate who punched the server spoke to him.
Pirate B: "Don't you know how to say apologize, huh? Lick it."
The server sounded as if he was about to cry as he licked the shoes of the pirate.
"Hey, do it more seriously! Yes, yes, that's good! It's like you're thirsty for this!"
The pirates laughed as they watched the pitiful man who could do nothing but follow their orders. To disobey them would mean death.
Rider gritted his teeth as he watched the scene while Fergus wondered what was the meaning of this humiliation.
Fergus: 'I don't understand. What's the fun in doing that? Shouldn't the pirates have things more fun than this?'
Astolfo had a pained expression as he watched the scene.
Astolfo: "Horrible..."
d'Eon had a frown as he stated that this is the best chance for them to sneak past the pirates without being noticed.
Ritsuka stated that this is also the chance to save the man, causing d'Eon to question Ritsuka if he was sure they should do that under the current circumstances.
Ritsuka: "We can't just ignore this."
Hearing Ritsuka's words, d'Eon smiled.
d'Eon: "Understood. Then, I shall follow Master's command. Is that alright with you, Rider?"
Rider smiled lightly and voiced his agreement, saying that it is tied to the morale of their allies as well.
Astolfo: "Ehehe, as I thought, I'm glad Master is Master. It's like Master is stupid, but not stupid or something like that..."
With a flushed expression, Astolfo praised Ritsuka.
Fergus: "Being a fool and being a hero is not contradictory. It has been said that Celt Heroes are all fools."
Fergus: "What should be scorned are cowards. Truthfully, I find their actions repulsive. It's pitiful. We can't let them get away with this, it's not something I understand, but I'll face them."
After defeating the pirates inside the bar, d'Eon noted with relief that they haven't been noticed. Astolfo cheerfully declared that it was thanks to their abilities and everyday habits. At that moment, a pirate stepped out from the toilet.
Pirate: "Fuu... getting all fired up while someone is in the toilet, what happe-"
Astolfo: "......."
Pirate: "...Haaa?! Who the hell are you guys?! Oi! It's enemies! Intruders!"
Rider knocked the pirate out, however, they could hear some of the pirates moving and the city began to become busy.
Astolfo complained about how unlucky it was for one of the pirates to be in the toilet at such time. Causing d'Eon to snidely comment that Astolfo did say, 'everyday habits'.
Before the pirates could corner them, they decided to escape.
d'Eon suggested to the party that they should hide themselves for now. Astolfo commented that the whole city is bustling and wished they would calm down soon, causing Rider to comment.
Rider: "You seriously think they'll calm down? One of them got beaten up in their own base, you know?"
Astolfo: "Nope~"
Astolfo answered Rider's question cheerfully. Rider questioned what they should do now. On one hand, retreat, though difficult, is an option.
d'Eon stated that while they could also try to target the ruler's mansion, it would also be difficult to do that. At that moment, d'Eon noticed a presence and demanded it to reveal itself.
A purple haired little girl walked towards them and asked them.
Young girl: "Onii-chans, you want to go to that mansion? Shall I lead you?"
d'Eon: "...a child?"
Astolfo: "We-Well... it's not strange to think that the pirates might have a child. Since they treat men as they please like that."
d'Eon voiced his surprise and Astolfo tried to give an explanation.
Fergus: "Oh, the first respectable girl we see in this town."
Fergus: "Ojou-chan, thanks for the offer, but we can't stand out too much."
Young Girl: "You want to go while playing hide-and-seek? Ufufu, what's with that? It's weird!"
Young Girl: "But it's alright! Un, I know a way to secretly get to that mansion from here!"
Hearing that, Ritsuka spoke up.
Ritsuka: "It's a Goddess of Salvation! I'll praise you..."
Ritsuka patted the young girl's head.
Young Girl: "Hm? Nihaha, it tickles. But I like having my head patted!"
Seeing that, d'Eon scolded Ritsuka.
d'Eon: "Master! You're still doing careless things like that! You should be more alert-"
Astolfo cut off d'Eon's scolding with a comment of his own.
Astolfo: "Though you say alert, I'd rather not have a Master who'd suddenly punch a kid or something like that."
Rider spoke with a smile.
Rider: "Well, they are enemies, but a child is cute, right? Children are treasure, you know. You should treat them preciously."
Astolfo stated that while he knew d'Eon is just being alert, it doesn't see that this is a trap. The girl is just a child and she doesn't seem to treat them as enemies.
Fergus agreed with Astolfo, saying that the girl had no weapons. In fact, since she doesn't seem to have anything at all even though the city is filled with many 'trashes', he wonders if she is poor.
As they speak and decide what to do, a group of pirates found them. Rider ordered the young girl to hide as they fight against the pirates.
Ritsuka commented that it is troublesome and asked the Servants to hold back. Astolfo agreed, saying that they are fighting in front of a child. Though troublesome, Rider agreed with Ritsuka, saying that having belief is a good thing.
The young girl led them towards the mansion where the ruler of the territory resides. In the process, Astolfo had to free his butt from the small hole they had to pass.
Astolfo: "I managed to get out. I almost had to remove my waist armor or skirt."
Fergus had a troubled expression hearing Astolfo's words, causing Astolfo to comment.
Astolfo: "You had the face of 'Damn, if only I was the last one, I can justifiably touch his ass.'"
Fergus: "Y-You're wrong! You're completely wrong!"
d'Eon noted that it doesn't seem as if there's any enemy presence there, stating that it seems that this is truly a secret route to the mansion.
d'Eon turned towards the girl.
d'Eon: "By the way... I'll ask just in case. But was there any family members of yours among the ladies we played with earlier?"
The girl answered cheerfully.
Young girl: "No, there's none. It seemed so fun, isn't it? I know, it's playing pro-wrestling, right?"
Fergus agreed with the girl words, trying to hide the truth.
Fergus: "Ye-Yes, that's right. It was a pro-wrestling. It was fun and was a good training."
Astolfo frowned.
Astolfo: "Since before, I've heard a word that was supposed to bait Fergus, but he hasn't taken it. It feels weird..."
Fergus was confused by Astolfo's words.
Fergus: "Is that so? Somehow, that makes me wonder about my grown-up self, but... in any case, I'm sorry."
d'Eon had a stern expression as he spoke to Fergus.
d'Eon: "Don't apologize. You are not wrong. What's weird is saying words such as playing night pro-wrestling."
Astolfo smiled as he replied to d'Eon.
Astolfo: "I didn't say something like that, you know. d'Eon was thinking something like that, right? Nihihi."
d'Eon blushed as he realized his mistake.
Rider asked the girl about the distance until they reach their target. The girl answered that they'll be there soon. She pointed to a hole on the wall and said that they'll reach the mansion if they pass that.
d'Eon offered to pass through the wall first to ensure that it is safe. After d'Eon entered and there was no reaction, Astolfo, and then the others passed through the hole.
They arrived at the back garden of the mansion, Rider was surprised that there was actually a secret route while Astolfo tried to thank the girl, but she was not there.
Fergus noted that the girl didn't seem to be on the other side of the wall and wondered if she went back home after she guided them.
d'Eon and Rider wondered if it was actually a trap. With Rider mentioning that he had never seen a child like that before.
Regardless, they decided to enter the mansion. In the mansion, Ritsuka reestablished contact with Mashu. Mashu stated that while she is curious about the young girl, for now they should focus on dealing with the ruler of the territory.
Entering one of the room, they were greeted by a woman's voice.
???: "Ara, I thought the city is being quite noisy, turns out there are guests."
Mashu recognized the voice, and the woman revealed herself.
Mashu: "Drake-san?!"
Hearing Mashu's reaction, Rider questioned if they knew each other. Mashu explained that she was one of the Servant who went missing from Chaldea.
Mashu stated that they had guessed this possibility, but while the woman's voice is the same as Francis Drake, the way she speaks, her atmosphere, and clothes are different.
Da Vinci reported to them the result of a Spirit Pattern scan. It is a complete match, there is no doubt that the Servant standing before them is Francis Drake.
???: "No, my name is Dahut. The Pirate Noblewoman, also called Rider of Ys."
Hearing the name, d'Eon was surprised.
d'Eon: "Dahut?! No, from the name Ys, I suppose it's obvious but... what does this mean?"
Ritsuka asked d'Eon if he knew about Dahut.
d'Eon explained he knew because it was a French legend. Saying that it was a legend passed down in Brittany.
Once, a coastal city named Ys existed. It was a luxurious city filled with vices and corruption. However, by God, or perhaps, a Demon's hand, the city was submerged into the sea. It is said that the luxurious evil capital retained its form at the bottom of the sea.
And the name of the King's daughter who ruled Ys was Dahut. Who, while being the ruler of the city, would plunder items from others. The being who built the foundation of evil in that city by the act of piracy.
Ritsuka questioned if that was really a legend. d'Eon answered affirmative, saying that Ys should not exist.
Dahut: "Such strange words. I am here, Ys too, exist here."
Dahut: "Yes, welcome, to my Capital. In this place, everything is allowed. The Capital of Freedom and Decadence. Are you enjoying yourselves?"
Rider answered Dahut's words that it's just their sick taste of treating others like pet and games. That the city is not interesting.
Dahut chuckled.
Dahut: "However, you understand once you look, don't you?"
Dahut: "Love, Pleasure. Violence. Alcohol. Enjoyment. Gold. Silver. Beautiful Clothes. Pleasant Living Beings. Cute Living Beings. And finally, Death."
Dahut: "Everyone can steal anything they want the most."
Dahut: "Do you not think that this is such a blessed Capital?"
Astolfo: "Blessed? I can only think that the city is filled with trash. In a lot of meaning."
Astolfo refuted Dahut's words. And Dahut who heard him responded.
Dahut: "Ah, I see. All of you still doesn't know this city rule, yes?"
Dahut: "Then I shall tell you. There are only two rules."
Dahut: "If there is something you want, steal it. And then, do not desire something that you've stolen."
Ritsuka questioned her if that is not contradictory.
Dahut: "No, not even a bit. To say it in a simple terms, this is..."
Dahut: "Stealing things you want without thinking is encouraged. You must adhere to everything else other than that."
Dahut: "That's all it is. Prioritize your desire. There is no need to hold back."
Dahut: "Also, included in the everything else other than that is the fact that it was stolen."
Dahut: "Trying to keep it is useless. Just let it go. After all, someone wants it."
Dahut: "No matter when, without forgetting that desire, I taught them to steal for that sake alone."
Fergus wondered if that was the reason why there were so many goods in the town while Da Vinci analyzed Dahut's words.
This city is a city built upon the ephemeral desire to steal. It is completely against the concept of ownership. Because of that goods and resources flowed from one hand to another.
d'Eon asked Dahut why she did something like that. As it simply created a distorted society. Even without stealing, it is possible to get the things one wants.
Dahut: "Why? Did you just ask why? You should know the reason."
Dahut: "Because that's the way for everyone to be happy."
Dahut: "What was created by those who follow my example is a Capital weaved by pure ephemeral pleasure."
Dahut: "If, through the act of stealing, there is a moment where everyone is equal, and through that moment, one obtains the greatest happiness."
Dahut: "Then, at that same moment, everyone is also happy, correct?"
Fergus questioned if it is actually possible to make everyone happy through the act of stealing.
Dahut declared that she wished to continue that single moment where everyone is equal and grant everyone the greatest happiness.
Dahut: "Ah, such as an ideal Capital. As a proof of that, look, everyone in the city, all of them are smiling, right?"
Dahut: "In this Capital, no one has to hold back. They can do as they please. There is no need to be concerned about others' feelings. Is there a nation even more equal than this?"
Rider pointed out that her logic, though filled with beautiful words, are also filled with holes.
Rider questioned Dahut about the feelings of the men who were stolen as if they are nothing more than goods.
Dahut: "Eh? The feelings of a man?"
Dahut sounded as if she was unable to comprehend Rider's words
Dahut: "You say strange things. Why do I have to think about feelings of a man?"
Dahut: "I am the daughter of the King Gradlon, Dahut. A Princess more beautiful and noble than any others."
Dahut: "I have the right to steal from others. And those that are stolen have the duty to consider being stolen as happiness."
Dahut: "Everyone should understand that Truth, don't they?"
Dahut: "After all, if they don't. There's no way the men who spent the night with me and had their lives taken would show me such a wonderful expression with tears flowing down their cheeks."
Dahut: "And this belief is shared by the citizen who obeys me."
Dahut: "Basically, because everyone in Ys is my representative, everything that is stolen by Ys should feel happy."
Dahut: "Is there any other logic than that?"
Hearing Dahut's words, Mashu spoke to Ritsuka.
Mashu: "Master, please allow me to make a declaration."
Mashu: "It is not something that is based on numerical analysis, therefore, it is something that is normally should not be said, however..."
Mashu: "As Mashu Kyrielight who journeyed alongside Master through Okeanos, please allow me to say."
Mashu: "That, is not Lady Francis Drake."
Mashu: "That personage, is, undoubtedly, a pirate. She is not someone who produce items, but someone who plunder them, instead."
Mashu: "However, she would never claim it as something Just. She did it while knowing the weight of Evil."
Mashu: "She had the boldness that would laugh at that weight and carried it on her ship."
Mashu: "However, that woman in front of our eyes is different. She does not even think about that weight."
Mashu: "Her Evil is simply a habitual Evil. An Evil act done without regarding the weight of its Evil. She does not care of the weight of her Evil."
Mashu: "That is why, she cannot be Captain Drake."
After Mashu ended her declaration, Rider spoke to Ritsuka, asking what they should do with Dahut. While he doesn't know the circumstances behind Dahut's connection with Ritsuka and Mashu, he would like to know how they will treat her.
Ritsuka: "She looks like someone we know, but she's a different person. Let's beat her!"
Hearing Ritsuka's words, Rider prepared himself for the fight, while Dahut reacted to Mashu's words.
Dahut: "Habitual? That's wrong. I'm a woman who changes and flows continuously after all. I gain happiness from wanting something. After that I throw it away and want another thing."
Dahut: "By the act of stealing (piracy) , I will cause a flow that will make everyone happy. That is the way of life suitable for someone who live above the sea."
Dahut: "Yes, that's why I understand."
Dahut: "All of you too, desire this happiness, don't you? You want me, you came to steal from me, don't you? However, I, who always want something and throw it away, have nothing but myself."
Dahut: "Then, you want me, right? Basically, you come to propose, right?"
Astolfo: "...that's completely wrong. It doesn't seem like she's listening though. This type of person."
Dahut ignored Astolfo's words, or perhaps, she did not hear him.
Dahut: "Ah, if it's that, then I want it. I want someone who would propose and love me. I always want that."
Dahut: "Very well. Then, just like usual. Let us steal that desire from each other on the bed. Of course, I'll throw it away once I stole it."
Dahut: "That is the flow of happiness. The happiness that is stealing. The method to obtain the absolute heights of pleasure."
Mashu cut Dahut's words.
Mashu: "Master, you are not going to the bed. Let's settle this here."
Hearing that, Dahut spoke.
Dahut: "Here? Wearing clothes? Standing? Fufu... unexpectedly passionate, aren't you?"
Fergus commented that this was the first time he met a woman as fearsome and powerful as her. Even though he who lived in the Ulster might meet someone such as her, to him who exist in Agartha, this is the first time he met a woman such as Dahut.
And though it is impudent, Fergus was trembling. As he realized that women are strong, to think that they would be that true to their own desire. He felt ashamed of the fact that even though he was facing someone with such valor, he still cannot swing his sword because she is a female.
Ritsuka told Fergus that he should just focus on the bodyguard task like usual. Dahut commented that even though there is a boy who seemed as if he would shine if he is tempered, it appears that it's too early for him to come to her.
Dahut called pirates to assist her in the battle and their battle began.
Ritsuka and his group defeated the small-fry pirates. Seeing that, Dahut turned towards the remaining pirates.
Dahut: "Are you pregnant?"
They answered affirmative.
Dahut: "Then deliver them."
With that command, each of the pirates' body dissolved and reassembled themselves into two bodies, doubling their number.
Astolfo: "N-No way! They increased?!"
d'Eon: "Impossible! It's like a cell division! Their body separated and the same woman became two person!"
Rider: "Tch, as I thought, they are not normal living beings. So that is how they multiply."
Astolfo, d'Eon and Rider voiced their surprise.
Dahut: "If inside your mind, like a sudden fireworks, you wish to feel the experience of truly being stolen, then..."
Dahut: "I don't have to say it, do I? Close your eyes and come before me."
Dahut: "Still... that's not good."
Dahut: "Because I can't obtain the you that I desire, I begin to desire something else."
Dahut: "Hurry, hurry! Let me steal it! Allow me to steal it! Anything, everything! The everything that I desire!"
Dahut: "Because, I want it."
Dahut: "I want the blue-colored rose that had absorbed the blood of a 13 years old maiden."
Dahut: "I want the drop of water that fell from the hand of a Musician stricken by a fatal illness and played a beautiful sound."
Dahut: "I want the cute ashes that fell from a burned Love Fortune book that had pages covered with human bones and broken jasper."
Dahut: "Give it to me. Give the happiness of obtaining things I want to me."
Dahut: "For that sake, I can throw away everything that I wanted and have obtained."
Hearing the words of the Rider of Ys, the Rider of Resistance spoke.
Rider: "Fool. Steal it, then throw it away, steal another, then throw that away. Do you actually think that by doing this it will be shared around the world?"
Rider: "There's a limit to resources. Everything will lessen after they are used."
Rider: "That stealing and flow of happiness that you talked about will stop one day. Sooner or later, everything will be used up and you can't get anything anymore."
Rider: "What's left there is nothing. The nothing that will eat you up."
Rider: "The only thing that you can steal from a world that has nothing is the act of stealing itself."
Rider: "Essentially, the end of everything. If there's no production, then the world can't maintain itself."
To the speech that Rider of Resistance gave, Dahut replied.
Dahut: "I don't care about the world. I just want the city that is given to me, the city that is only mine alone, to continue to prosper."
Dahut: "To have the people who live there continue living their interesting, happy, and joy-filled days."
Dahut: "Through that meaning, I will be able to pride myself for being a true statesman."
Dahut: "Even if it's Evil or if I am abused. Even if I am called the Drago (Demon)."
Dahut: "I am Dahut, the daughter of King Gradlon and the ruler of Ys. A noble, and, as foretold by St. Gwénnolé, the Witch of Immorality.
Dahut: "Even so, the cheer of citizens who know of the joy of stealing acknowledges me as their true master."
Dahut: "Now, my citizens! Praise me! Then let us indulge ourselves! In the pleasure of stealing without end!"
As she declared so, the pirates multiplied even more. Causing Astolfo to complain that there's no end to them.
Ritsuka: "Don't give up! Beat them before they can multiply!"
Hearing Ritsuka's words, Rider smiled.
Rider: "Haha! That's it! That's some good words!"
Rider: "Even me who don't have any memories, know one thing for sure."
Rider: "No matter what, in any situation. If I know what I must do, as long as there's a possibility, I won't give up. I will never give up."
Rider: "Not giving up is my number one weapon! Now, let's go kid! It's time to stand your ground!"
Dahut was stuck by the attacks of Ritsuka's Servants.
Dahut: "Why... this kind of thing should not happen..."
Dahut: "Even though, I want to steal. Even though I just want to steal."
Dahut: "Wishing for my citizen to be happy, there's no way that this feeling is wrong!"
Dahut: "Aa... even so... as I thought, there's no way I can allow myself to be stolen. It's like putting the cart before the horse."
Astolfo realized that Dahut was about to escape and tried to stop her alongside Fergus and d'Eon but the pirates kept on multiplying and blocked their path.
Suddenly, there was a crash and the city shook.
One of the pirate reported to Dahut, somebody had opened the water gate and the water is now flooding the city.
Dahut: "Impossible! The water gate should be inoperable by anyone! I have the only key and I've always kept a secur- wait..."
Dahut: "Don't tell me, during the fight, someone...?"
A child's laughter filled the room.
???: "How foolish, how uncouth! O Rider of Ys!"
The one who appeared before them was the girl who led Ritsuka and the others to the mansion.
Rider clicked his tongue as he realized that if the pirates multiply like that, then there is no way a child would exist.
Dahut had an expression filled with surprise and rage as she stared at the young girl.
Dahut: "You... you are..."
Dahut: "The Empress of the Nightless City! Assassin!"
The young girl, Assassin of the Nightless City smiled.
Assassin: "Ho? As expected, you recognize our visage. You are unlike those simpletons over there, Pirate Princess."
Mashu immediately performed a scan on the young girl and confirmed that she is a Servant.
Da Vinci warned Ritsuka to be careful as the girl seemed to be one of the rulers of Agartha.
Assassin: "Ritsuka, was it not? We appreciate your efforts. Thanks to you fools fighting this foolish girl, we managed to obtain the object we desire."
Assassin: "In deference to that merit, we shall forgive your insolence of touching our body."
Hearing that, Ritsuka recalled what he did.
Ritsuka: "Oh yeah, I patted your head, huh?"
Assassin ignored Ritsuka and returned her attention towards Dahut.
Assassin: "Ah, we are pleased. Your extinction pleases us. This annoying Ys' destruction pleases us!"
Dahut cried out in frustration and confusion.
Dahut: "How? How is this possible?! There shouldn't be anyone who knows about the location of the key except me!"
Dahut: "The only other person who know is-"
Assassin smirked.
Assassin: "You know, do you not?"
Realization dawned in Dahut's eyes her face morphed into a scowl.
Dahut: "I see. So that's how it is. After leaving my Ys, I wondered where she would go..."
Dahut: "Is it Caster?! That woman, this time she is with you?!"
Assassin did not deny it.
Assassin: "Truly, you are foolish, we are unable to understand. Sallying forth through a ship to attack a village, be it in your sleep or when you are awake, you will take and retake."
Assassin: "How wasteful. Just like those Amazons."
Assassin: "There is no need to do such a thing to destroy an enemy country. After all, using a single key is already enough!"
Dahut: "ASSASSIN!!"
Assassin laughed as Dahut screamed out her name in hatred.
With a crash, water began to flow into the mansion and Dahut was swallowed by the flood.
Ritsuka and the Servants frantically moved to retreat from the sinking Capital, watching them the Assassin of Nightless City laughed.
Assassin: "Nihahaha! Oh, how shameful. Because we are in this form, we accidentally let out a laugh unsuitable for an Empress."
Assassin: "More elegantly, haughtily, just like the training. Kufufu!"
Assassin: "Now then, Ritsuka or whatever. No, we have gotten tired of that name."
Assassin: "Indeed, we shall bestow upon you a new name. Accept the name Funyan with pride."
(It uses the Kanji for Dark and Sheep. The 'Dark' here is usually used for words such as coma, fainting, or asleep)
Assassin: "To you who accepted our guide without doubting anything. A dunce comparable to a sheep who kept on sleeping even as its fur is trimmed."
Assassin: "Oh, or perhaps you would prefer being called Onii-chan like before? If so, then should you prostate yourself and plead for it, we might consider it. Right now, we are being generous thanks to our pleasant mood."
Assassin: "Oh, since we are generous, we shall bestow upon you one more thing. Should you retain your life, you may come to our Nightless City next."
Assassin: "Our prided, Righteous and Brilliant Capital shall leave you in awe. It'll leave your mouth hanging! There's no doubt about that!"
Assassin: "Or rather, to be frank, we wish to boast, so you should come. To put it simply, come. End of discussion. Well, then for now, do your best to escape, Funyan!"
Leaving those words, the Assassin of Nightless City disappeared and Ritsuka and his group rushed out to escape the flood.
As they walked towards the higher ground, d'Eon observed the city sinking, not unlike the Ys from the legend.
Fergus wondered if the men that was captured in Ys managed to escape the flood, while Rider tried to look at the positive side by saying that at least with this, the number of men who are imprisoned by the pirates will not increase anymore.
Da Vinci confirmed that with this, one of the three Capitals of Agartha had been destroyed and that Dahut is not the Demon Pillar. Mashu stated that during that kind of condition of distress, it is not possible for a Demon Pillar to allow itself to be defeated like that.
While a bit disappointed that they 'missed', Ritsuka decided to move on to the next target. And Rider suggested that since they were invited, the next target would be the Nightless City.
Ritsuka agreed and as they moved on, Fergus looked back to the city.
Fergus: 'Ys, the city that chased after momentary happiness of its citizen by the act of stealing and flow of change.'
Fergus: 'It is evil, and it is probably mistaken. However, the fact that its citizen is happy might be a truth.'
Fergus: 'In the past, many countries were created, were destroyed, and continue to exist.'
Fergus: 'There is no such thing as high or low ranks. Simply a country with a single way of life. I should remember this Capital's Evil.'
Fergus: 'That is, without a doubt, a training as a future King.'
Fergus: 'Perhaps it is meaningless for me who is a Servant. However, it is my nature, and I can't help but do that.'
Fergus: 'I wonder what kind of country is the next one?'
