Why is Elmer Fudd white? Because when you make someone up you can make him whatever color you want.

Ah now, he probably existed but stories have been exaggerated.

Sure, some dude two thousand years ago was named Jesus. Probably a whole bunch of them. That doesn't mean the guy we are talking about is real.

i think he was invented by brown people but later stolen by white people. i think this a thing. and they say white people don't steal

It's common for my cultures to portray their religious figures as someone similar to their race. It can help someone new entering the religion to feel more comfortable. Not saying it's right, Jesus was most likely brown, but I've heard this reason several times.

For the same reason the bible figures from the middle east are named Mark, Luke and John.

Mark Luke and John are Hebrew names...

The Hebrew name for John is Yochanan. There was no one being called "John" walking around the middle easy 2,000 years ago.

Rather incredible, isn't it? That desert sun must have been very rough on his fair skin...probably would have gotten skin cancer eventually anyway.

Why St.Nick occasionally being portrayed as black?

Why is he portrayed with long hair? Why is he portrayed with a beard? Maybe he was bald and fat. Maybe he had really big ears that stuck out, and buck teeth.

I think it's just because it's all a bunch of stories that anyone can make into anything they want.

The Bible says that the Roman soldiers ripped Jesus beard while being tortured ( so he had a beard, probably a long one to )

Jesus also was a Nazarene and I believe they were to have long hair ( so probably had long hair , realistically he probably had a giant Jew fro) lol

Byzantine artists, looking to show Christ's heavenly rule as cosmic King, invented him as a younger version of Zeus. What has happened over time is that this visualisation of heavenly Christ - today sometimes remade along hippie lines - has become our standard model of the early Jesus.

The most popular image of Jesus thanks to the Catholic Church is a portrait of Cesare Borgia.

Cause probably most painters that painted Jesus were European so they just painted him like white

do black people believe in a black jesus or a white jesus?

1
nitsuaztnarf•

I believe in parts of Africa they have paintings of black Jesus so they could very well believe he is black

Same in eastern Asian countries. He’s depicted as Asian

my grandma would get so offended. lol

Does she think Jesus is white ?

This girl claims to have seen Jesus in a dream or vision or something Here’s a picture. Could be accurate although I think he looks more Greek
