No Great Art
They say great art is made in times of pain and hardship. Maybe this is why I'll never make it to be one of the greats; With my comfortable life of solitude. I'll never write about my friends deserting me, As there are no friends to be deserted by.
I lack the cosmic awe that all the greats have; I mope about solemnly hoping to find my muse.
I do not live a life or hardship or pain. Nor one of extravagance and excess. My life is fairly bland and maybe that's nothing to complain about. But maybe one life of hardship would be worthwhile, If I was to live on inside the mind of an inspired child. In the same way that the great arts live on, in mine.
