Oregonian Poem Men
How do you write a poem
Really, How do you write a poem?
Like write one that doesn't start out too slow and
doesn't make you sound sappy when you show 'em
Maybe it's like this
Think of a word who's ending is
Close enough it's not a miss
For the poetry Rhyme-a-Meter Metrics
Yes, it's probably that
A hobby that seems on track
When a couple of words match up
and don't feel too much like patch work
It's probably what you're looking for
When it's been given a good score
By the Poetry Rhyme-a-Meter Board
of the North-West American Shore
That's P-R-M-B-N-W-A-S
And in case you couldn't make the guess
They like to go by Prim-bin-nuh-wass
And they'll let you know if you're the best
Prim-bin-nuh-wass, was always here
Telling folks what's good to hear
They put out a ranking every year
Letting you know what to like, hate, and fear
So if you're lookin' to write a good poem
It's time to gear up and hit the road, then
Drive on over to that Oregonian
Board of tasteful, rhyming poem men
