I like writing poems like this (although I am not sure I really care for how this one came out idk) where it seems simple and fun but it does have a meaning I might change the ending a bit tho I am not sure....

These lines are really powerful. They say what makes a writer tic.  the rest of the poem is also good, but these are the crux of your poem

Having recently delved into this realm of attempting to write poetry, I can certainly relate with this. I think you capture the creative process fairly well. Like others have said, it was a fun, lighthearted read. A delightful change of pace from the sorts of things I usually read. Good job!

well thank you :-) and no I don't take offense at all. I wrote this to be a light hearted poem. not really trying to be incredible just having fun writing. I might revisit this later on with some fresh perspectives who knows. anyway thanks for reading and commenting :-)

I would say that it's fun too, light hearted and straightforward. 
I hope you're not surprised (and I hope it isn't mean to say) that poems about writing poems are fairly common, and I've often seen them approached in this way. 
In that knowledge it's harder then to make something stand out, to approach the subject in a way that hasn't be done time and time again. 
To do that, I think it's more interesting to write about the personal details of your creative process - the right setting, the right arrangement, the feeling that drives you to create. 

I'd also like to note that, although the ending is a nice twist and well pieced together, the whole thing is null and void. You have written a poem in the end, and it's not half bad :) 

Any way, I'm always up for something light hearted, a lot of poetry can be a complete downer. Keep up the good work! 

I'd rather the first line not serve as the title, since it adds little context and can be construed as a bit redundant. I like how the speaker breaks the fourth wall, but I feel like they should be reaching out more to the outside world / reader. Introducing a 'you,' or even general 'they' might help progress the piece. And more details. Where is the writer? Who is the writer? Including their personal background as a backdrop for the piece may make it more impactful. Just my two cents.

thanks I struggled with that line originally I was trying to use the word rage ( like fueled by rage ) or something but it wasn't sounding right so I used that. I might come back to this poem later :-)

I like it! Because of the scribble and blaze in the 4th line, the quick, choppy lines, and the casual approach to the subject itself, I read it quickly.  It felt masterfully unintentional, like something that was jotted down in a hurry or spilled out that way (although that might not be the case). Also, good punctuation and nice job with keeping the rhyming easy and melodic. i disagree that punctuation and capitalization should be uniform. in fact, i think the mismatch matches well the quick, carefree cadence of the poem.  Great piece!

I'm not sure whether "doubt" is the best choice to represent all the questions that the narrator asks in this poem. "Doubt" has a generally negative and pessimistic meaning/feel to it while the questions here were born from the desire to write an amazing poem i.e. they were asking "What kind of awesome poem will I write today?" rather than "Will I be able to write an awesome poem today?". Lines such as "And scribble in a blaze" and the general tone of the questions put light on the poet's actual mindset.

Maybe "A poem of no fame" hints at the doubt, but it's a bit sudden as it directly follows the lines highlighting the poet's lofty dreams. For me, this poem seems to be about dreaming too much before even starting on a path and crumbling under the weight of your own hopes and expectations.

This hits home for a lot of poets I think. We realise that our expectations do not meet reality. We are not always as productive as we'd like to be. And as our emotions guide our work, we cannot control those, so we are at their mercy.

I think this is a good poem, as I can relate to the poet. I think he wrote a really good poem about writing a poem, and done so beautifullly. It was an interesting poem because the poet was writing how most poets feel most days. They want to write a poem they feel passionate about, but then they don't. But what I don't understand is why? Why did the poets doubt get in the way. I know he actually wrote a poem so obviously he tried to, but then it stops, when the poets doubt kicks in. This is an amazing poem that makes me think and I really liked it.

A poem to amaze

And scribble in a blaze 

Will I write of beauty?
