The Thought of It

Feedback Received!

This thought has overgrown my mind
forcing branches down my throat
puncturing my lungs and
leaching the oxygen.

It’s roots rip through my arms and legs
and seep into the ground
planting us in place.

Now, I am the thought
and the thought is me
and we are unmoving.

That's a very accurate description of being consumed by a single, important idea, plan, or thought. I really like it. I can relate to this 100% reflecting back on old troubles I've had.

You were full steam ahead until the last stanza, what happened?

I think that the final stanza deserves as much interesting imagery as the first two, I would work on taking the immovable into the ground and talking roots and worms and tunnels to pull together the feeling.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the imagery and sentiment behind the piece, keep up the good work :)

Liked the subject matter. Spent some time wondering whether stalemate was the inevitable outcome of swapping self with thought.

The thought seems very powerful though, perhaps even enough to destroy the self.

Your metaphors are absolutely beautiful. I like the fact that you've kept the thought itself undescribed, it gives the reader an opportunity to relate and identify with the poem.
