I can't
I can't. I want to, but I can't.
I wish I could stay but I can't.
I want to give gifts, and dance, and eat chicken fillet..
But I can't stay.
I can't smile, I can't laugh, I can't play...
I can't today.
I have to go, to go away....
For I need my rest...
I can't stay, I'm too depressed..

I am a fan of how the rhyme scheme changes in this poem. All of the lines that have the '-ay' rhyme ending are not specific as to why the narrator can't stay. They are vague and the narrator refuses to admit why they can not stay. However in the last two lines the rhyme pattern changes. To me, It signifies a change in the narrator's tone. To me it seems like the narrator is admitting their secret. They are coming to terms with their turmoil.
