Monsters

Somewhere along the way,
I invited the monster
from under my bed
into it instead...
now I keep him warm,
rub his head,
love him till
I'm good and dead.

What I'm mainly wondering with my pieces, other than general feedback which is welcomed, encouraged and appreciated, is if they work as stand alone pieces. Sometimes I wonder if they need to be longer, or if they were abandoned before they hit their full potential. As always, thanks for taking your time to read my work :)
