I Thought About Shaving my Head (a poem for May)
Almost every day,
I've got you on my mind.
We broke up last May.
And not to be cliche,
But you were one of a kind.
You said you loved my hair,
But thinking of you causes me pain,
So I shaved my head,
Now I've got rain on my brain.
And I love the smell of rain,
But without you, it's not quite the same.
Well,
They say May showers
Bring June flowers,
But my name ain't June,
And we ain't bought each other flowers,
Since we laid in the same room.
Staring at the moon,
Me acting the big spoon,
You, holding me close until noon.
Well,
I bet you're wondering about my hair,
I didn't actually shave my head,
See, in poetry we can lie,
Like you did when you said,
That you'd never say bye,
As you you lie in my bed,
Now I've got your lies in my head,
And May just ain't the same,
My plans in June have gone down the drain,
And when I'm thinking bout all we've said,
There's no room.
Not in my head,
For rain on my brain.
Or you in my bed.
And of course, the two pieces of feedback I've provided. https://www.reddit.com/r/OCPoetry/comments/8b27k5/sad_man/dx459dl/ https://www.reddit.com/r/OCPoetry/comments/8b54qh/my_flight_got_delayed_a_bunch_and_this_came_out/dx450hr/
