He's dating my anxiety too

there’s an elephant in the room  
can’t you see?  
his leg on my chest  
his trunk at my knee  
weight. weight. weight.  
where did you go? what do you mean?  
am i meant to die? and die alone?  
does one plus one equal three?  
maybe.  
but the shadow of you has more to do with what you do to me  
and the trunk of my elephant choke choke choking me  
and my throat. it’s not easy to note that you caused this.  
and like it or not, i think a lot about what is and what should be  
till i’m blue in the face from dreaming of days without  
you, my elephant and me
