You guys sure have some nice ship models, but can you play tabletop games with them?

Okay.
Yeah it’s reversed compared to WoWs: Yamato is the secondary boat and Mushy has the AA.
I have a bucketload of these ships somewhere...
Sounds like they are worth a buncha monay!
I'm rich! RICH! So long, suckers!!!
Omg. I am so happy someone posted pics of War at Sea. I have 1300 minis. I've made YouTube videos about them, greatly enjoy the forumini and got the new deck the team made.
1300?!
Oh man I still have my Japanese navy laying around somewhere. My yammies were almost unsinkable. Think it was like 17 dice for a secondary roll? So OP
Oh wow, lots of good memories of that game. I played that, Seekrieg, Victory at Sea and Fletcher Pratt at various times over the years. Which explains why I'm a WoWs junkie now.
I have a full set of Brit and Argie ships from the Falklands around here somewhere.
Great, I really didn't need to discover another tabletop game to blow money on that I never play. I'm already 6 years and hundreds of dollars invested in Warhammer 40k and only play once every couple months but I can't resist a good tabletop ship game. Will definitely look into it.
Nice, I remember wanting to get into these, then I looked at the price tag
The real question: is Belfast OP?
It is a very good cruiser, those two skills it has are actually kind of similar to what it is good at in WoWs: using concealment to save itself whilst killing enemies who are in concealment.
You sunk my Battleship?
Sorry for potato quality pic, my phone is old. These are 1:1800 game pieces from the old Axis & Allies: War At Sea game.
I'm sure some of you know this game, as it's very similar to World of Warships in that you sink hundreds and hundreds of dollars into it only to end up complaining about OP ships and broken mechanics. :D
I got into this a few years ago. Sold all except muy special Big Mamie. If I had a crap ton of money, I'd collect them.
I'm glad I got them when I did, some ships are individually almost $100 right now on eBay.
GHQ makes some really nice 1:2400 diecast ship models. Grab some of those, print off some stat cards and bam you've got a game that feels like the ranges are a little more realistic.
At least you can make house rules and balance some obvious op. Models look really nice, I would really like to play this game. Too bad I don't know anyone who played that back when I played tabetop games. BTW why you didn't paint them?
Yes, the number one house rule usually being NO CVs ALLOWED hahahaha!
Seriously, you think GZ is OP in WoWs? In War at Sea it was a damn heavy cruiser with planes, with skills to augment both DBs and fighters.
The was true as well with Saratoga with the 8" guns, but at least she cost more points than GZ, which was just ridonkulously cheap.
I had stopped modeling and had no paints anymore when I picked up this game so I never really thought to buy more paint, mainly because some models were already very nicely done which kind of made up for the more lackluster ones that don't stay on the board long anyway (chiefly DDs, subs, and some cruisers).
Edit: forgot to add, there are still people who play it, in fact they just released another fan-made deck. Check it out if you like, I know some places still meet up. https://forumini.boards.net/
