For people with issues using joysticks in the new Input Update...
If you have issues with the joysticks not working, head to http://127.0.0.1:8998/dashboard/controllerbinding.html or the in-game editor when it works and while running the affected game, edit the profile and add the joystick input by pressing the plus by Joystick, selecting Joystick in the menu, and making sure it is the appropriate "____ second trackpad/thumbstick value" option (____ being left or right). It will autosave the binding and it should work.
EDIT: Haptics on the left controller are also redirected to the right controller. Click edit haptics and redirect the left controller haptics to the left controller.

Cool thanks. Havent tried the new feature yet but hope to soon.
Question though, what's the deal with this method of configuration? And how do I visit that site? Like, for example just start fallout 4 in steam vr, then get out of of vr, open chrome and go to that URL? And how does one get to the in game editor?
Thanks for posting this.
Open the URL while SteamVR is running. You can edit a game's configuration without being in the game, but you would want to have the game open. Right now, the in-game editor is broken but you would open it up by clicking settings in the dashboard and then clicking Controller Bindings.
The controller configurations are definitely not polished at all, with weird scaling issues when too many actions are set. Hopefully they manage to merge Steam Input and SteamVR Input so the same polished interface for configuring a Steam Controller can be used for VR controllers.
