Guess I just came out to my mom (part 2)

So I wrote this post a couple of days ago and I have a small update. We talked about it again with my mom today and she said she'd done some reading on asexuality. She also said people are different and there's nothing wrong with that and that I would eventually be able to find the right person for me. She didn't say anything about me changing when I get older today.

I can't believe she actually took me seriously and I'm super happy about that :) Next step will be coming out to my dad.

I really hope so. It's just that finding another asexual person is pretty hard, but I'm not sure if a relationship with an allo person would work out.

Do you feel that it is important to come out to your parents ? Why ?

Yes. I did it because I was tired of hiding who I am and finding excuses for not dating anyone.

EXACTLYYYY I'm only 15 but my parents are already talking about how I'm "so beautiful and the boys are gonna be all over me soon" and they have said multiple times they expect grandkids.

I get you. I've known I was asexual since I was 14 or 15 and my parents have been talking to me about boyfriends and me getting married and having kids all this time. I'm super happy I won't have to have this type of conversations anymore xD

That's amazing... I wish my mother had looked into Asexuality after I came out to her, but that would make it more difficult to just deny and brush off, I guess...

I'm sorry your experience wasn't as good. Why would you want to deny it or brush it off though?
