Asymptotic ⎭⎜Relationship
Closing in, an asymptote
Closer still, yet ever slow
A broken country never knows
We're almost there, I see the edge
An archer's bow above a ledge
Squeezing through, the asymptote
Can you even make it though?
Does he even drive or vote?
I'm asking you about your life
MY asymptote, I'M almost white
I'm almost there, approach the line
A million crackers, cheese and wine
Stop, I'm crying or getting there
Spitting children, splitting hairs
Drunk with power, nearly broke, Are
you the one, my asymptote?
I hate it, everything you do
but you see, it's in me too
I hate it, everything you are
Broken home, but lovely car
Slashing prices, people, sins, No
fish or frog or fly can win
Building bullshit, save your skin, No
fact or flag or fight to win
Getting near, but out of reach
It's never yours, you lich you leech
Run and run and run and die
A billion points into the sky
The journey said to matter most
Said with flattened fleeting gloat
And all my wants and dreams and hope?
Never touched; an asymptote
But I will learn and I will teach
About the line just out of reach
This one is special, king or pawn
Unless a god or poorly drawn
Some are crossed, but not today
You want but don't know how to pray
You wouldn't know just what to say
Then do you live inside your head?
Camping in while almost dead
Whisper quiet in your tent
"I hate you Mr. President"

I welcome all criticism, but am most curious of who the narrator is interpreted to be.
