Eleven Quintets
NOTE: the copy/paste to Reddit messed up the formatting. It’s supposed to be in quintet form (five lines per stanza). The caps indicate the lines. Here is a better representation of what the poem is supposed to look like.
ELEVEN QUINTETS
I. Sea of sentiment Turns and swirls Ebb and flow Upon strange tides Calm waves pulsing
II. And then churning Warring and roaring Of the beast The angry waters The screaming swells
III. A soulful hurricane Falling, breaking, stirring This internal violence Living and breathing Found cast out
IV. Upon lost shores The ravaged psyche Holding and steadfast Waiting for passing The violence sleeps
V. Just shallow beneath Then peace peeks Through dark clouds Turned from black Grey and fading
VI. Into pure white Surrounded by infinite Skies bleeding across Golden horizons longing Pieces of eternity
VII. Love is born Seeping great waters Into steady rivers And gentle streams Covering the world
VIII. And for moments We begin forgetting Those empty expanses Those burning violences Those aching churnings
IX. And we simply Quietly and gracefully Exist as stars Bright points shone Clear light within
X. Burning and being And finally seeing The hidden things At once revealed Wildly and carefully
XI. Chaos and symphonies Creating new memories A wonderful journey We have becoming A meaningful life
