The Truth about Bin Lids
Have you ever noticed
that the underside of garbage bin lids
get mouldy?
I just did,
and I can’t stop thinking about it.

I mean, what’s the point
of using a bin liner?
When parts that don’t even get touched
by left-over fried rice and tomato sauce,
will still look like a science project.
/
I even bought a bin,
with the flimsy foot pedal.
Just so I wouldn’t have to touch,
what I assumed was a clean lid.
I suppose my subconscious knew the truth.
/
Now that I know,
my once innocent eyes
peruse rooms in search of
other fallacies.
