Taiga, n.
Taiga, n.
—a moist subarctic forest that begins where the tundra ends.
She was busy when we met,
small between expanse of
and surrounding, so beautiful
I could not read another
line without her.
She slept beside
T’ai Chi and the old Scots
for impede or entangle—
cradling her sweep of forest,
its low birches and stunted pines
stretched over continents.
At dawn I read on, deep
into the Northwest Territories
and the story of a woman who
took her own life when told
aurora could not be seen.
She browsed the gift shop
They said, then turned
towards the north
and walked.
