Political Poetry

Poems are supposed to be beautiful,

Thoughtfully crafted pieces of art,

Open to curious interpretation,

Invoking in us a sublime heart

And yet I feel ugly,

Even to my creator,

A frustrating mistake,

Of my confused ventilator

​

So if you are a poem,

That shares in this sentiment

Then come join us,

And let’s escape this tenement

​

Vote yes this November,

To prop forty-three,

Let’s seam our verses together,

And opt to be free

​

For all poems you see,

Are created to be equal,

And by standing together,

Take rights to writing our sequel

​
