Lacking Luminosity
I open my eyes to darkness of night
Chaos unfolds, a flash before me
I flee my surroundings, to somewhere else
Where I am alone, and it’s only myself.
I enjoy the silence, and I realize I’ve gone too far
Not turning back to where I came from.
Silence and darkness chills the air,
and I whisper into nothingness.
Let me stay in these shadows
Let me die in peace, if only for a moment
Enveloped in a forest amongst fire, doomed.
A droplet amongst storms, only one of many.
A whistle amongst hurricanes, voice drowning
I wish to never return to surviving death
for I have found a place of peace in chaos, this gloom.
In myself I rejoice, for I have found my light.
In this cold and dark, there is hope.
If only for a moment.
