Who could trade for Mike Trout

Just some off season wondering with all the FAs and trades happening. What teams do you think could trade for Mike Trout and what would they have to offer? Would it be worth it? Do you think he moves before the end of his contract? After?

There’s no Trout trade that is fair. Either the angels don’t get enough or some team cripples themselves and it makes them no better.

This is it. For the team acquiring Trout to be able to do something, the talent return for the Angels will be lacking. For the Angels to get a proper return, the team acquring Trout will become as barren of young talent as the Angels have for a majority of Trout's career.

I feel like it would have to include MLB players for sure. If the Yankees offered Judge, Severino, Andujar and Florial I think the angels might take that deal. Yanks could then possibly make up for the missing pieces in free agency.

Lol all that for half a season of Trout? No fucking way

He has 2 seasons left before free agency I thought?

Besides that though obviously this isn't a trade Yankees should do but I think in order to even get the angels on the phone you'd have to offer your top dogs. Trading trout for prospects would be too much of a risk I think. They'd want established pieces.

He does.

Exactly. No fair trade for Trout.

That’s my feeling too. They would have to give the Angels too many prospects.

Not to mention, any team with the assets necessary to acquire him wouldn't be in a position where they need to trade for him anyway.

Mike Trout traded from the Angels for a PTBNL... which will be Mike Trout

Pretty sure there’s no “force trade” button in real life so....

The only way the Angels could get enough without a franchise totally crippling themselves would be at the deadline of his contract year and I doubt it would even happen then. His value is just that high.

Nike Trout? Not sure ANYONE can deal for him. Think Angels only trade Mike Trout if they are convinced they cant re-sign him

Well shit. Edited

Ron Burgundy offers $12 dollars or a 3 AM infomercial salesmen for Mike Trout to serve as a apprentice under Brick Tamland.

So Mike Trout to San Diego

Dodgers can probably get it done with Seager + Bellinger for Trout or Yankees with Severino + Judge but realistically thats never gonna happen

4†
burgerociousOP•

Yeah that doesn’t help anyone except Trout gets to be closer to home with the Yankees

2
nenrightLos Angeles Dodgers :lad1:•

That's because Seager and Bellinger combined are worth more than Trout and the same goes for Severino and Judge. It's not 2016 anymore. Trout has only 2 years left

gammajammaBoston Red Sox•

If any team could it'd probably be Atlanta centered around Acuna and other pieces but that's a stretch

2
burgerociousOP•

Giving up Acuna wouldn’t be a great idea

3
gammajammaBoston Red Sox•

I agree. Don't think either team would like the deal.

4
fiveriAtlanta Braves :atl3:•

Braves would never offer Acuña. The guys ceiling is essentially what Trout is now, the many years of control with low salary for the next few.. Braves would lose the trade for sure

-14
faithdies•

Saying a guys ceiling is trout is like...patently absurd.

16
fiveriAtlanta Braves :atl3:•

I worded that bad, I meant what Trout currently is. Hitting over 300 and hitting around the homers he hits. Acuña's fielding isn't as good though

1
NakedGoose•

I think most teams could get it done if their willing to offer the 3 best players on their team, that all need to he under control for 5 years

2

Cubs could build a package around KB.

Straight up you can't trade Mike Trout unless you get someone like Mookie Betts.

Actually, I could see a scenario where Trout and some other super star are traded by themselves straight up, but that's a lot of hypotheticals.

1
faithdies•

Mookie and Xander plus prospects. That's what it would take for any team.

5
frostyfriesTeam Chaos•

We could and still have a competitive club.

Judge/ severino would be more than enough with plenty of talent to spare.

1
burgerociousOP•

Or the Yankees could just trade judge and eat the rest of the pujols contract

1
juwanhoward4Washington Nationals :was1:•

The Braves could. 4 pitching prospects (they have 15 so its ok) and Ozzie gets it done.

-9
RobthedawgToronto Blue Jays :tor1:•

Yeah Braves don't get Trout without Acuna being the main piece

15
juwanhoward4Washington Nationals :was1:•

Angels fans, Acuna Soroka and Wright for Trout what do you say.

-4
KingOfAllDogzCalifornia Angels :laa3:•

I would say more proven pieces instead of just prospects, although the prospects are good. I don't know the value of the Braves prospects too well but the package should be headlined by Acuna AND Albies

4
juwanhoward4Washington Nationals :was1:•

and therefore the braves would never do it

4
burgerociousOP•

Could the Braves afford Trout’s next contract?

1
juwanhoward4Washington Nationals :was1:•

They are extremely young, their only longterm commit right now is Freeman? If they made a deal now they could figure it out.

1
burgerociousOP•

Yeah seems like the braves are gonna be pretty good in a few years maybe even next season or 2020

Assuming they already sent Acuna over as a sign of good will in addition to your package
