The Mo Long counter Advent Calendar - Day 6
The team: Garo Platy Racuni
Usable against: Mo Long Ritesh +1 (Harmonia, Perna, Rakan, etc.)
How it works: This is an mono-fire team designed to minimize the impact of Ritesh from the fight. The fire monster can either be quickly dispatched (if Perna, CD reset + Garo makes short work of her), and/or CC'ed with Garo and Platy. Everything is fairly tanky (Garo via passive and vamp runes) so Mo Long shouldn't be able to do much on his own.
The star of this team is Platy, who has an incredibly loaded kit. She has a strip to deal with Rakan/Harmonia or will runes, decent heal and revive in case things go wrong, and a stun/CD reset on a low 3 turn cooldown.
Garo and Racuni should need no introduction - they are already incredibly popular for both 4* siege and RTA, and round out the team with damage and additional support.
Strategy: If the fire monster is a damage dealer like Perna or Rakan, you should definitely focus that first. You will be def broken and will not survive if you allow fire damage dealers free reign on def broken targets. I have Racuni speed tuned to go right after Platy so she should get an immediate 2 turns before the enemy for 2 chances to strip, or strip and then follow up with cc. Garo will be able to follow up with an additional chance to cc.
If the enemy fire monster is Harmonia, then it matters a bit less if you focus Harmonia or Ritesh first, since Harmonia will be much tankier. Just go with whatever opportunity presents itself and don't be afraid to switch targets. Do not be greedy and risk glancing to try to finish off Mo Long even if he is low from using his S3. It's perfectly fine for Mo Long to be healed back up to full, you have enough sustain to do the same on your end.
Platy is a relatively complex monster and all 3 of her skills are multi-faceted and low CD so it can be tough to decide which skills to use at what time on which target. Even now, every time I review my own fights with her I can spot mistakes or better moves I could have done with her (including today's fight). Rather than write a novel on Platy, I suggest you just try her out, play it slow and think through each action. It will take some practice but learning is best when it comes from personal experience.
The one specific thing I will mention though is her revive - it's very weak, so be careful when using it. Especially if you revive Garo, note that if he dies his passive would not have reset by the time you revive him, so he can be killed immediately again. If you revive Garo, make sure you have Racuni ready to resurge him to get his passive back up.
Runing considerations:
Garo - standard vamp DD build, rev and nem are best offsets but you can just go for stats if needed. Note that I do purposely get a bit more HP on him than normal, this allows him to survive a Mo Long S3 into S1 or S2.
Platy - standard vio support build. Need decent acc to land strips and cc. Offset is not as important, will or nem are popular but not necessary for this.
Racuni - standard vio support build. High res is popular. Offset is not as important, nem is most popular but not necessary.
Speed tuning is Platy > Racuni > Garo.
Seriousness factor: 6/10. It's a team that is fun and has a good chance of winning, but at the end of the day it's a bruiser team with no complete elemental advantage so you can easily lose if you get unlucky. Like all bruiser teams, your success is heavily dependent on your rune quality.
