You can't make these BO4 complaints while also praising BO2/3 for the same reasons
Complexity
invalid complaints:
- "pack a punch is too complicated" : With the exception of DOTN (which isn't THAT bad), Black Ops 4 has been pretty good about this. You can't tell me that PAP for IX is any more tougher than Shadows of Evil, Gorod Krovi, Revelations (exact same actually), MOTD, Buried or Zetsubou no Shima (nothing can top this one)
- "the gameplay is too complicated" : The gameplay is the same! Get kills, use the box, pack-a-punch, get perks, survive
- "Easter eggs are too complicated" : aside from the fact that easter eggs are completely OPTIONAL, they're no more complex than the ones in black ops 2/3
- "The story is too complicated" : Black Ops 3 is the most confusing mess of the bunch. I'd say Black Ops 4 is on par with Black Ops 2. Blood of the Dead is pretty confusing in the same way Origins was confusing when it first came out, but that's it. The rest of Black Ops 4 is primarily the Chaos story, just like Black Ops 2 was primarily leftovers from Black Ops 1
valid complaints:
- "Loadouts/elixirs/talismans are too complicated" : I give you this one. It makes sense to me since it's basically the multiplayer class creation system applied to zombies. It can be overwhelming in comparison to black ops 2 (not so much black ops 3). My only tip is to not worry about it (gameplay continues as normal) and to look into it later to keep things fresh
Gameplay
invalid complaints:
- "Setup time takes too long and is tedious" : Straight up false. Pack a Punch is relatively quick to get on most maps (exception goes to DOTN), power is really quick to setup on all of the maps, and the wonder weapon can be gotten from the box (we even have a quest so as to not rely on RNG). Likewise, no critical map spot is reliant on the easter egg (last open training zone for Origins, last camping spot for Zetsubou)
- "Elixirs/talismans are useless" : Good! I'd rather not have a micro-transaction like Perkaholic/Pheonix up to be must haves. Even better, less people are prone to dashboard to preserve their consumables (since they're mostly worthless). Elixirs/talismans are meant for new players to get a fighting chance. Returning players shouldn't be reliant on them. This is an improvement over the game changing gobblegums in BO3. Edit: turns out people can't dashboard anyway, so it's even better that the gobblegums aren't must haves
- Edit : "There's not as much content on launch" : Completely false imo. Comparing the starting maps for a second, Tranzit is by no means an amazing start. A lot of you guys have rose tinted glasses with this map, because when this map launched, it was the absolute worst (probably remains as most people's worst map). Sure you get some interesting game modes like turned/grief, but I'd much rather take any one of the on disk maps from black ops 4. Gotta give some credit to town tho, that subsection was really fun to play on. Ignoring the glitchy release, Shadows of Evil was pretty good. However, I'd hardly pick Shadows of Evil over Blood of the Dead (no contest once you add IX and VOD). Maybe you guys really enjoyed Dead Ops Arcade 2, otherwise, there's no way you can say BO3 had more content at launch than BO4. Including the dlc pass bonus maps, Classified is definitely on par with The Giant, so the bonus maps don't change anything
valid complaints:
- "Zombies aren't as scary as they used to be" : This one is valid for Black ops 2. With the start of Black Ops 3, we've seen a different art style present that focuses on higher saturation, special effects, and adventurous themes. It's kinda hard to be scared of a zombie when you have vibrant colors and flashy effects (especially with specialist weapons). Some maps are still somewhat scary (Blood of the dead and Zetsubou no Shima), but for the most part, zombies has become more adventure and less horror (not a bad thing, but I respect the complaints). I'm not sure if this is something the zombies team can control (since they have to run the multiplayer engine), but you can tell that they shifted the genre significantly
- Edit : "High round stability is not as good as before" : Completely valid, no argument. MOTD goes on till round 200+ in Black ops 2, Classified can't even reach round 150 despite the Easter egg being "reach round 150"
- Edit : "Easter Eggs are not as fun solo" : Another valid point I thought I should add. All of the new easter eggs are longer and harder to complete solo than on BO3. Not so much BO2 since half of those maps required 4 players, but still a valid complaint nonetheless
Takeaway
I'm not trying to invalidate all complaints with the game. Nor am I dismissing the above complaints (most hold up for people coming from Black Ops 1). I'm just calling out the hypocrites that bandwagon on the Black Ops 4 hate while praising Black Ops 2/3 for the same reasons. Having more structured and valid criticisms should reduce the toxicity this community is seeing
P.S. - feel free to add on other complaints I've missed

Thank you for calling out this gigantic circlejerk of a sub
Woah careful your truth is about to attract some downvotes.
I'm actually really confused how that got 35 upvotes, has the subreddit changed?
Nope still garbage and toxic, we have just managed to create a small bubble of logic for a split second.
Or the like, 100-200 people that aren’t straight toxicity are the only ones on for the moment. Or, and this is more likely, the coherent points presented made those that do nothing but complain have mini-strokes and they’re incapable of typing at the moment.
