Some observations: If you compare this to Round 1 graph, about 1/3 of Salamangreat and Sky Striker decks made it to round 10, while Thunder Dragons are slightly weaker (1/4 decks made it to round 10). Interestingly, 1 in 3.5 of Subterror decks are in round 10 - it seems to be performing pretty well. Altergeist have only 1 in 6.5 decks in round 10, and Trickstar and True Draco are at rate of about 1 in 9.
RIP Other...
Other seems pretty inconsistent tbh
The ratios are identical to last graph! Pretty strong indicator of consistency and meta definition when that happens. Not that I mind, other than Dangers breaking Thunder, it’s a solid meta.
My Salamangreat boys getting some representation.
I have played Cyberse since the beginning. I am very happy to see the Type get a decent deck :3
As a german. Its Düsseldorf ;)
I know. I just forgot that I could make ü on my phone. If I had posted this on my PC I would have put the umlauts in there.
I honestly don't even know how to make that character on a keyboard
Its a short form for ue. But your apologized xD
I can’t wait to see a break down of “other”; the one I saw for last weeks tourny had someone running mermail.
MERMAIL. IN 2019.
I want to see the trickstar deck list. I bet it’s skystriker or mixed with artifact
anyone running any FTK?
Danger! Orcust can psuedo-FTK with azathot if they aren't running the sekka variant, using Phantom Knights (and also time thieves), and most likely there's a handful of Pendulum Magician players in Other using Kali Yuga as a psuedo-FTK as well. Then again, there's honestly not a lot of good Pendulum players in Europe.
The USA has a much larger ratio of notable/skilled players to average players than a majority of European countries, so our format tends to be a lot harsher and encourages more """degen""" playstyles, so you honestly might not see as many FTKs just because of that alone.
Tell that to the Italians and Greeks at any european YCS, they got splendid players that always end up top cut. There are also quite some pretty notable Dutch, German and UK players
You can’t look at USA to like Britain or France. You’d have to compare to EU as a whole. But I agree, you see a lot more degeneracy over here in the US.
Crusadia sure is somehow there or?
Curious as to why true draco has seen a sudden resurgence. Does it have a good salami matchup?
Speaking of which, goddamn is it a popular deck. Wouldn’t be surprised if it takes the event at this rate
inspector boarder and there can be only one
Well probably not because of the Salamangreat matchup, Heatleo and Foxy fuck them over.
Less handtraps in the meta witch evens out the playing field in favour of Dracos, more good matchups like Guru Control also Drocos can break Guardragon and Salamangreat boards better then other decks and straght up out grinds them and wins going first.
Still not enough for them to be top tier since Thunder Dragons are a thing but they're definitely being meta gatekeepers right now.
Aren’t there more handtraps in the meta currently though? Or is it that less decks use a lot of handtraps?
More and more players are opting to side handtraps rather than maining them. Also technicaly yes, there are more decks playing handtraps (Phantasmay being another handtrap recently released to be considered) but a lot less super handtrap heavy decks.
Ah, that makes more sense. Thx for the explanation
If the last couple events before this ycs are to be taken note of, there are more handtraps in the meta. Just look at salads and how many they main deck. But I guess we’ll see after this YCS.
If you think about it this way, all the top players (and other players) that were playing thunder before have switched over to salads. Which objectively ran more handtraps than thunders since they essentially played non.
