In the text exchanges, according to The Guardian, right-wing activists discussed physically attacking demonstrators, showing up at their homes, or where their children go to day care, and conducting background checks on political organizers.

Wow.

Well let's see one of them shot up the republican congressional baseball team, other used a government Lexus nexus account to dox a conservative lobbyist at his home, leaders/ associates of artifacts and BAMN have said in recorded interviews they support violence against their political opponents. Ugh, this gets so exhausting, which may be part of your game. But just in case you are merely misinformed... Antifa, as inferred by the name Anti:Facist is not a group. It's an action. There is no hierarchy or greater organization. It's individuals standing up to Facist ideas and rhetoric, and as the bearers of such extreme ideologies become more empowered/emboldened the anti-facist tool set may require more direct violence. But even if/when that violence is carried out, it won't be done in the name of a hierarchal group seeking power, it will be carried out by individuals standing up against an ideology that requires suffering/extermination of the "other".

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.” ―Edmund Burke.

24
AnotherClassicPost•

an ideology that requires suffering/extermination of the "other"

That's antifa. The groups you defend are dedicated to inflicting violence and suffering on the other. It's why they take to the streets in identical black disguises to avoid legal responsibility for their violent and criminal actions. They mindlessly apply the empty label of "fascist" to any political opponent of theirs without rule or reason, so that people like you will mindlessly parrot it, unthinkingly giving cover to violent criminals.

-7†
Afghan_NinjaGreen Lake•

Lol, you'd sincerely benefit from checking out philosophytube or contrapoints on YouTube.

Edit: Oh and again, antifa is not a "group" (in the way you're using it), it's a response. No facism, no antifa. But first you need to educate yourself on facism.

No, you are conflating "someone" with "people are". There is no grandmaster pulling the strings and organizing his lackeys. People are organizing and coming together in resistance of ideas that rely solely on the suffering of the "other".

Edit: Oh also,

...someone is even funding them ( in some instances)

Gib sauce.

20
Venne1139•

So there is no organization whatsoever? It's just a bunch of random people who show up at the same place, at the same time?

Literally yes. I'm not even joking.

Antifa is, and has always been, extremely localized. It has always been in reaction to specific events and specific right wing movements.

When those events have passed or the fascists leave the town or go away Antifa generally tends to disappear as well. Maybe it's different in the United States but Antifa is a world-wide 'movement'.

Someone is organizing them, someone is even funding them ( in some instances)

Yeah those black clothes from the closet and that Billy club could have only come from Lord (((Soros))) himself.

My point is Antifa hasn't killed anyone, and is more of an internet meme than organized group, but the right likes to talk about them like they're ISIS.

All the real terrorists threats in the US come from right wing radicals.

22
elister•

The best way to defend one sides horrible actions is to claim both sides are bad.

9
NullHemisphere•

I think your heart might be in the right place, but Antifa is not the danger right wing media outlets have made them out to be. It's an attempt to level the playing field and claim "they're doing it, we're doing it, so all sides are the same".

In the United States at least right-wing domestic terror has been on the rise for the last 20 years. Domestic terrorism is equal parts militant Islamists and far-right extremists in this day and age. That is for home-grown terrorism, not international terrorism.

In the 80s Id say you'd have a point since I believe left-wing terrorism spiked that decade but now it has mostly died out. Antifa in the USA are often (EDIT: that means "not always" people) hippy protestors that light candles and yell at people while holding signs, though there are international groups that do worse things mostly in Eastern Europe.

I am not sure you can bring them all under the same umbrella though. Some of these groups are anarchists, plain and simple.

Why is CNN "my" news station exactly? I don't watch or read from them at all.

Did you read that article? It doesn't say anything about Antifa. In fact they believe extremist Islamic terrorists were the cause. I also mentioned specifically this is the other major source of terrorism.

"The government on Monday blamed a little-known radical Islamist group for the devastating Easter Sunday suicide bombings that killed nearly 300 people"

Right, just look at Senator Roy Moore while Governor Ralph "Klansman" Northam got thrown out on his ass.

Did you miss the part where Moore ran for office and is considering running again? The Republican Party didn't toss him out, the voters did.

Republican voters "tossed out" their sane moderate ones, and went all-in on Trumpist crazy angry racist pieces of shit.

17
FelixFuckfurter•

Lol, it's the same Republican Party it's always been. Lower taxes, less regulation, law and order, strong defense, pro-life, pro-2A. If anything has changed it's a leftward shift as the Moral Majority fuckos lost their influence and the party generally became more libertarian.

It only looks like there's been a shift because the Democrats have gone so far left. Bill Clinton said welfare instills the wrong values and sends the wrong messages; now multiple Democratic presidential candidates endorse a scheme to provide "economic security for all those unwilling to work." In my lifetime the Democrats have gone from "safe, legal and rare" to Governor Blackface hinting at post-birth abortion. Hillary Clinton said super predators need to be brought to heel, but now Democrats are the "Let Dzhokhar Vote!" party.
