The Best. The Worst

The best things

come last

The worst things

come first

No matter the trials

the best comes last

But despite the best times

the worst comes first

It's a large

cycle

It's a fruitless

maze

But we keep going because

the best comes last

We try to keep going because

the worst comes first

I like the idea and parts of structure but I feel like it lacks some meat to its bones, and while I think repetition can be useful, in this case it might be a bit boring. Add some depth. Play with some of the words. If you're going to be simple in structure toss in some complex/pretty vocab.

Sorry, this is my first reddit anything, I don't really know the unwritten rules, and my opinion is prob useless.

I like the structure. Also the closing sentiment of the last section ties things together well. I’d work on maybe giving more weight to the third section, it feels thin

I like the repetition of this but also feel like it would also tie together a lot better if there was maybe a rhyme scheme? it’s pretty cool though it reads like a mantra or chant

It feels like a declaration without really any explanation. It might be improved by some fleshing out of the premise, some illustrations of the idea put forth. Unrelatedly, I like the fancy lines at the bottom.

I tried to write something while I was feeling down and intended to have this type of effect. I really like this piece because it models what I wanted to do in a different piece I wrote.

Would you mind if I sent you what I have?

I feel like you were going for a simple message and I dig it! It's repetitive but I feel like that's what you were going for because the whole point of the poem was that life is a cycle of good and bad. In a way, it reminds me of the chicken and the egg argument because how do we really know what comes first? I understand what the comments below are saying about how there's not a lot going on and I'm not completely sure if my takeaway from your poem is correct but I can appreciate the simplicity of your poem! I enjoyed reading it!
