Ruins- Sonnet 3

Feedback Request

My heart aches a thousand sorrows,

As I put your photo down.

It's as if all I am is hollow,

Cold and buried in the ground.

All I see is your pretty face,

As I stare into the stars.

All I feel is all this pain,

As I try to heal these scars.

My love is only unrequited,

It passes and then it's gone.

I love you but your love's forbidden

Love was all I'd ever owned.

I guess it's best to have loved and lost,

Than to have never loved at all.

I love this poem and the way it is written in such a way it can be perceived in several different ways. The uniqueness of this poem is mind blowing. Filled with so much emotion with all these strong meaningful words put into it. The pain, the love, and the sadness is breathtaking.

I really like the slant rhymes in this poem and how it doesn't adhere to the strict rhyme scheme of a traditional sonnet. I would like for you to describe how the pain feels so the reader can relate to it
